What have you done to your P5 today?

Awesome Mark! I teased myself today. Drove the MS3 and a RX-8. Almost pulled the trigger on the 8 untill we found out it was a buyback from Mazda. It was so nice though, fully loaded GT package with navigation, velocity red with red/black leather interior and appearance package. I was seriously ready to sign on the dotted line untill the buyback thing came up. Damn it all!

how was the MS3??

Congrats Mark!!! Nice to hear you got her back up and running!

Yesterday the P5 and the fam made three trips to the soccer fields. Daughter's soccer tourney is this weekend and basically consumed the entire day yesterday. Only one today and then the season is done. Back to normalcy for the time being anyway.

We're going to get race wheels/tires for the P5 today. :) Probably driving the MPV there, though. :(

Oh, well. Racing wheels, wooohooo!

the 14's from the 626 go on the P5 today :( i'll post pics of the horror once the swap is complete... yikes, 17" to 14", it's going to look horrid. i'm glad she'll be under cover so i don't have to look at that all winter.

DETAILS.

Andrea... 14s... I think it'll look sweet :D It'll be way lower but probably have some ridiculous wheel gap.

my white stockers w/ azenis that I used to use as race wheels ;)

Oh, nice! Not very exciting, but nice :D I love Azenis. If I'm not poor this spring, I'm getting Azenis and some 16" Subzeros. Stock wheels are fuuuuuuugly (especially when they are caked with brake dust). I should paint them gunmetal so I don't have to wash them.

The MS3 was indeed a quick car. Tough to say though because I could not run it through with 3 other people in the car. Still pulled nicely in 2nd and 3rd. My only small gripe with the short run I had with it is that I was surprised at how loud the exhaust is. I have a MSP muffler and intake, but I found the MS3 was a bit annoying at times. Almost the same as the MS muffler for the P5 with that low drone, which made it difficult to speak with others in the car. To be honest, I really do not find the 3 as attractive on the outside as the P5, though I did infact enjoy the interior.

What was funny is that I test drove with my wife and daughter, both of which looked at the 3 in disgust. Did not like a single thing about the car. Instead, they kept pointing me towards the RX-8, of which got high praises. Needless to say, if infact we all loved the MS3 I would not been driving the P5 anymore. So be it....on to the next adventure.

Forgot to mention, I got big thumbs up from everyone at the dealer. Seriously...it was strange to hear over and over, "Your car is so clean".

Side note...changed plugs and wires in a friends Ford Ranger. How strange it is to have 8 plugs for a 4cylinder.

I got the same reaction from the fellas at the dealer Friday. :)

Put my stereo back in. All back to normal. Lookin forward to the longer drive to work in the morning.

Surprisingly, it doesn't look too bad - almost identical to the 15" winters. However, I do have a potential problem that I'm hoping you guys can help me with. (help)

The 14's are fine on the front, proper thread 'depth' on the studs, no rubbing or clearance issues, etc. However, the rears are another story... Neither my dad nor I can see anything rubbing, and when I put my hand in between the rim and the brakes, I can't feel anything touching - at the very least, I can get one finger in between any part of the caliper/rotor, and the rim. But, there is half the thread 'depth' for the studs that there is on the front and you simply cannot push the rim on any further. (scratch)

Has anyone tried putting 14's on their P5 (I know, terrible) and encountered any problems? I haven't tried moving the car yet and to be honest, I am a little scared to just in case there is something touching on the rears. However, I do have to move it at least once or twice in the next few weeks - have to swap over the headlights, and give her a quick bath before covering up for the rest of the winter.

If anyone can offer any advice or firsthand experience, I'd greatly appreciate it.
