What have you done to your P5 today?

Oil/filter change, PCV valve change, and fuel system clean out (Grease Monkey).

Changed the 100,000 mile plugs! NASTY!

Decided to go ahead and get new coil packs and wires as well. Nothing fancy, but the wires and plugs are a small upgrade I think. Needless to say, it idles quite nice once again.

Looked at it and waiting to hear back about a motor. Anyone close to me that has a spare motor from doing the kl swap want to hook me up with a motor? I need this s*** badly.

Put some new wheels and tires on 17x8, +35 offset Rota Grids in Hyper black with 205/40 tires. Now I jus need to wait a month so I can pick up some BC's

Looks good. no issue getting x8 in there at all? i been thinking about new rims. car has some 18s right now. but thinking of going down to 17s or staying on 18s but not sure whats the widdest that can be put on a p5

Flushed the coolant system. Fluid was a dark green almost a brown color and STUNK. Never seen thant before.

16's are cheaper and lighter, but only come in limited sizing. the widest aftermarket (not including custom 3 peice) is 16x7, which is pretty lame.
Fd's are 16x8, yea but good luck finding them. The widest wheel you can fit and still run a decent tire is a 17x9, but thats cutting it very close

Set of FD's on Toronto Protege. iirc $350 for the set. Shipping I assume would be more$$ but well worth it for someone looking for a crazy 16" setup.

oh i see thanks for the good info. and yeah though about 16s but idk 17s yeah good to know i can still fit a 8.5 or even 9 not sure or what set up ill be going with

I'd give you mine, but the car didn't come with one? Check the junkyards? Out my way there are tons of FS's in 626's mx6's and probe's scattered around the junkyards...

Just pulled the Coils and plugs and wires out in prep for the new ones coming this afternoon....

One of the easiest spark plug set ups Ive ever worked on. My cadillac is such a PITA to work on, V8, under a plastic cover and then there is a plastic cover on each spark plug w/3 bolts on each! 3x8=24bolts just to get to the plug + the cover bolts and clips.

I have a feeling its to do with power. But having 2 coil packs are cheaper than having 8. Thank god for waranty

Makes sense. Someone should have told Cadillac that. I have a V8 Northstar in my SRX. Coil on each plug.

Well... the downside of using 2 coils is that the spark plug fires even when it's not needed to... like the exhaust cycle. With 8 coils, it fires only when needed. Plus they have that adaptability on other engines to shut down cylinders that aren't needed.

You really know ur stuff. I had no clue about it and was griping @ the dealership when they were servicing it (all under waranty I was just concered witht eh time needed) The model we bought shuts off up 2 4 cylinders while on the higway. When I drove Toronto-Florida you could really see the difference in gass mileage.

I wish our former MPV used that technology...it also had one coil per plug and what a pita it was to change number 6 due to some mis-firing...had to remove the plastic engine cover and intake mani just to get to the plugs...nature of the beast I suppose.

As for my P5...plans for 4x4 status are in the works as well as other de-modding. :(
