What have you done to your P5 today?

How many Jeff's is upinheeya?

I guess the two of us? haha

Drove to work and falling in love with her all over again. It took me awhile to lower her but it was well worth the wait!

Lemme get some thoughts/opinions.....since my rsb is currently unattached should I:

a)get the proper stock (MSP/MP3) endlinks and re-mount it
b)upgrade to the Progress rsb and keep the stock P5 endlinks I currently have

I have no interest in the AWR adjustable after reading all of the horror stories and since the Progress bar is compatible with the stock I figured it was the best way to go for my scenario.

I'll also be buying tires today.....205/50/16 and I have my choices down to:

General Exclaim UHP
Yokohama S-Drives
Dunlop Direzza DZ101
Continental Extreme Contact DW
Goodyear Eagle GT (cons - all season and 24lbs)

I've heard some really good things regarding the Exclaims and S-Drives but intrigued by the others.....anyone have expereince with any of the above?

doesn't bruce have the direzza's? by the way, i had no issue with my awr 21mm bar with adj end links (except that it's never coming off because it's rusted on there after 7 yrs)

Get an MSP RSB if you can find one. Makes for a nicely balanced setup.

Personally, I'd go General or Yokohama.

Most of the horror stories are from people who think the endlinks are tight enough, and they never are.

I never had problems with mine. But then again, I put them on with an impact wrench. When I thought they were tight enough, I went further. Quiet as a church mouse.

You can't be that lucky. I have a hole in the floor and a leak at the top of the windshield. Hasn't happened for me.

IIRC Bruce has the Star Specs which are a harder compound. Noted about the AWR bar and links...

I've been browsing for the MSP one but had no luck so far.

I thought so, but I've never seen it make the crash pad "sweat" (uhm)

I was almost praying for an electrical short (car fire).. lol.. all the water was dripping into the radio, the switches etc..

If that happens Phen will be very jealous. lol

Don't want to bump up to 215/50? (naughty)

General Exclaim UHP - ???
Yokohama S-Drives - Good, solid tire.
Dunlop Direzza DZ101 - ???
Continental Extreme Contact DW - Best All-Season tire for the $$. (Mainly because it's decent in snow, and no other all-season tire is even decent in the snow in any way...) It's also good dry & wet.
Goodyear Eagle GT (cons - all season and 24lbs) - ???

I would go with the Continental Extreme. The only legitimate all-season tire that works in all 4 seasons...

Also, check out Tirerack's tire comparison charts. They aren't full proof, but they are a good place to start.

Gonna pass on the 215/50's....and I was looking at the DWS initially but since lowering I've decided to stick with a dedicated summer tire so I naturally put the DW on my list. I have a dedicated winter set so I'm not worried about four season capability and I've been browsing tirerack and dtd. ;)

O, summer tires? Hankook v12 Evo. Dunlop Direzza Star Spec. ;)

v12 Evos do not come in 16" and I've heard great things about the star specs but I'm looking to get two/three seasons out of them so willing to compromise a little bit.

I definitely want star specs if I am still driving the p5 in the summer next year. Who am I kidding, I'll be getting those, or whatever is better by that time.
