What have you done to your P5 today?

hey, my idle had been bad for like 2 weeks and today i decided that i had to try cleaning my maf. so i went to a local store and bought an intake cleaner. im coming home, open the hood and WTF!!!! my cone filter was popped of the intake tube........my engine has been taking crap for two weeks?!! no wonder why it was idling like s***.

also, the guy at the store(performance store) said that it may be further than the maf(but im pretty sure he didnt know thta much lol) and he said to remove the filter and spray it in the intake tube while somone is keeping the rev so the car doesnt stall. Also, i removed the negative on the battery to reset the ecu. It seems to be a lot better now...

But what is the difference between removing the maf and shooting it and spraying directly into the intake?

also checked my oil and its perfect.

What kind of spray is it?

Maf cleaner is just electronics cleaner to clean the maf sensor wire... It won't do s*** spraying it into your intake/TB/IM....

you think i can shoot the maf directly with that kind of stuff? it say its not damagble for cat converter and sensors...

Idk... I don't think it's necessary or will do any good. Get MAF/Electronics cleaner and use that for the MAF sensor wire itself. That stuff you got is just for cleaning the air filter, I believe... It may work, but if that stuff ***** your MAF up, you are gonna be pissed, lol.

finally removed the adhesive from my doors after having the moldings off since memorial day weekend. still need the pull the moldings off the passenger side with the heat gun from work, fishing line, and a buddy

your going to want to do a couple things...first take that can of stuff and throw it at the guy at the auto parts store. Next get an actual MAF/Electronics parts cleaner and clean the maf off. After that do yourself a favor and get some carb/throttle body cleaner, take off your intake tube and clean all the carbon build up off around the butterfly.

and i used what people said to not use to strip the adhesive, gas. and thats how good it looks once you clean it up and hit it with some wax

and matt your car looks much better than mine overall with all youve done to it. baby steps for me

I'm probably too late, but I wouldn't spray your MAF sensor with anything BUT MAF sensor cleaner. Like, UCMP3 said, that air filter cleaner that cat at the auto parts store would probably funk up your MAF sensor badly. And when you spray that MAF sensor, be very careful with it. Don't touch the actual sensor with the tip of the spray hose or anything. Think of it like an O2 sensor, be careful with those things as they are very sensitive.

I'd jsut give the MAF sensor a couple quick shots with MAF cleaner from a few inches away. Don't go crazy with it.

Slim chance, but if the price is right may be picking up a MSP to make a bit of money parting it out...has a hole through the block...gotta see if it will be cost effective for me to get it...
