What have you done to your P5 today?

yeah mean the middle console. i need to tighten my ebrake as well, along with finally get around to see why my manual mode isnt working any longer :( i should had just waited to buy a stick.

Shoulda woulda coulda, lol. I shouldn't have bought a bright yellow, flashy, slow, lemon that takes twisties like a champ... But when it's not in the shop or up on jack stands, I still love to drive it! (rofl)

Rolled over 224K yesterday, and found that my windshield has a nice new crack completely across the bottom of it. It's getting to be time to retire the p5. At least i'll be rocking a E36 instead!

The e-brake trim piece is the rubber surround that covers up the e-brake bottom. Nothing has to be moved, just sit in the car, grab an edge and pull up. The whole center console doesn't need to be removed.

And even when you do want to remove the entire centre console (say for a very detailed clean) you still don't need to remove the seats. Just move them fully forward to get to the two screws.

i just had it competely down to just the actual gear selector box ( i dont know the correct name) everything went back together but couldnt figure out how to pull that selector apart.
i saw 3 sews on the edges that seemed to hold down the top like it was a cover.. loosened them but they didnt back out... maybe a nut on the bottom side? ill have to get a better attempt at it with more day light. luckly all went back together without an issue.

alright so in the green rectangle is what i got it down to basically. the 3 screws i meantioned earlier are in the places of the red rectagle. those are the screws that i tried to back out but wouldnt come. im not sure if there i a nut on the bottom side of those or not. the red rectangles are the 4 bolts that hold that to the car. assuming if i loose those i can maybe get a look at the underside of it all there and maybe get a better idea of whats the issue.

has anyone taken this off and if so have any suggestions?
thanks.

It's actually pretty easy, just 6 screws. two in back, two in middle, two up front on either side, don't brake the plastic nut type of thing around the screws when taking the cap off for the fronts, otherwise it won't look very nice when it's done.

And if it's an auto w/ shiftragic you'll have to put the car in neutral or drive to get it out.

Where can I buy a HUGE block of styrofoam (spelling?) to fab "something" ? Might try and make my own custom aluminum intake...I weld for a living just so yall don't think its gonna be ghetto

just had my s*** stolen last night. took it to get estimate for repairs for insurance. new dash surround(whole assembly) is gonna be 418 bucks...i was like WTF!. the window that got shattered didnt even cost that much installed.

That sucks exactly what happened to mine...shattered driver side window and ripped entire center console out, f'ed up the heating controls and everything. Took nav unit, ipod, cds, tool box and cleaning supplies from trunk as well as alpine sub...freakin' bastards. my repairs came to about $800 for window and center console. ebay has reverse harness for radio clip if they messed that up...good luck (friday)

if you have any luck fixing your sportronic lemme know, mine has been crap forever now...apparently this is common but it would be nice to fix

I really need to clean mine...it has 4 rims, 4 tires, a pile of clothes, work stuff, and dog toys in it...there are two tires in the front seat and I have stuff in the insides of them...I just haven't had the will to do it...school has been killing me...

filled up, 29.35mpg!

also finally put on new front rotors and pads. braking feels good now

Wow, wish I could get that out of my P5...

Ordered a new tire for my BMW and a lot of 10 oil filters.

Oh wait, wrong forum, lol...

Drove the P5 to work, one of the rear brakes sticks or something going backwards, is this a common thing? Started doing it after I replace the rear wheel bearings, maybe I didn't get something back together correctly...

Only happens when rolling backwards or in reverse, horrible sound.
