What have you done to your P5 today?

hey i was guna buy ZOOMit's hids! lol.. im back from the dead!
boy all this holiday nonsense has got me racked. im straight broke lol.

i guess this means ima move onto my next project. the audio!
first up i gota install my sony headunit. then later down the road some upgraded speakers, then a nice sub or pair of subs.

wow i have a long way to go on this car theres so much i want to do,
but its all good considering i just got it an i am going to ride it till the wheels fall off yo. (usa)

It's not about the boost in the booster, it's about the twist in the twisties...

Just got the phone call mechanic is gonna start tearing the motor down today

So, now we sit and wait.

Also, body shop next door is gonna come by and take a look at the lip to quote me how much to paint it

And, i need more opinions or experience of KYB struts compared to the tokico blues. I know Andrew says they are crap, but, i can get springs and struts shipped cheaper than I can get Tokico blues alone

Is it a crappy trade off? Should i stick with the blues and pass on teh KYBs?

Car is just daily driven and won't see track time, so i'd like it to be dropped but keep as close to stock suspension feel as possible

Then save money and failure time and stick with stock struts.

In all honesty, if you lower it, just go with the tried and true Blues.

tokico:2
KYB:1

Looks like i gotta get the rx8 wheels sold for some tokico blues

I've got the Mazdaspeed B-specs on stock struts (tho I shouldn't). They're bound to fail soon. I hope I can off the car before they do though.

MS6. It all depends on if the bank will give me a loan. If I get the loan, the MS6 is mine. If they don't, then I'm taking my bonus, fixing the rust, and living with it.

My reasoning is that I already have a project car, and it's much easier and cheaper to make it a competitive car for Auto-X. I want something I'm not going to feel the urge to mod all the time.

Anywho, since I plan on lowering my car with Pro-kit springs, I'm wondering what kind of tires would fit. I'm shooting for 205/45R17's. Would I have to roll my fenders for these?

I'm no expert, but when talking about lowering and tire fit, offset of the rims is a very important factor. +45 offset will probably fit but +35 offset would probably need a test fit to be sure.

IIRC the stock 16's are +50 offset and I get 55 series rubber to fit awesomely during the winter, and I'm running +40 offset 17's with 40 series rubber during the short Alaskan Summer and it's tight, but no major rubbing (I think I rubbed a couple times on potholes(sad2)).

^Food for thought

You thanks for that man.

Well I do plan on getting 215/40R17 tires and the rims I'm getting are 17x5 with a +40 offset. I might have to get a 5mm wheel spacer since I will be lowering my car.

Actually if you changed every offset figure in this post to a "+" number, it would be correct! (headbang)

A spacer will lower your effective offset, making it +35, which will be even less suitable.

There is no easy way to increase offset without machining.

Um, yeah, I meant positive offset... I used negative offset in my Monte Carlo.(hi)

Good thing I don't claim that elusive "Expert" title. Fixed.

That would be sweet. White MS3? :)

Yeah I can understand that. Technically you have two project cars if you count the bimmer.
