What have you done to your P5 today?

I got a call from the mechanic.

Inspector came today, and, the car did just what it should. Knock'd its little head off, spit coolant out the tailpipe, and coolant temp spiked to the point the adjuster made him shut it down before it even reached temp.

So, tomorrow he starts the tear down process to see what he finds.

Good thing is the mechanic knows the adjuster, and they both agree i should get a whole new motor out of it. Without breaking it down, the adjuster said he's pretty sure i'll have a cracked head or something with as bad a knock as it's got now

So, I roll in the PT Looser for the rest of the week

Something tells me the same thing. lol

I did pull the header though so intake and exhaust are the only mods.

Should help a little.

And, i just hope they pony up for a NEW motor, rather than something they find in a junkyard

oh, and question:

Will RX8 wheels with the stock 225/45/18's fit without rubbing much?

I was thinking more about rubbing on teh struts. I sit higher than any other Pro5, so i am not worried about rubbing the fenders. lol

OH and, as soon as payment clears from the sale of the intake, payment is being made on some Eibach Pro's.

4x4 mode will be no longer!!!

Congrats on the new motor.....maybe your mechanic could source one from PG or SpeedCircuit?

Congrats x2 on getting the springs.....one day I'll have some.....

I wish. He wants a NEW motor, but he has a feeling the warranty company is not gonna wanna pay for NEW

Here's an idea man... when I got the replacement B18C1 for the Civic, the total bill was around $5400 for an $1100 motor. Warranty will most likely go junkyard motor like the insurance company did for me.

That's kinda what i'm thinking.

Good thing for me though, there aren't any Protege's in any junkyards from here to orlando to miami.

Yeah, i figured. We'll see what he finds when he tears the motor down today.
