What have you done to your P5 today?

LMAO how does that even make sense? I say go somewhere else. That's retarded.

This screw allows air to bleed around the throttle plate when its closed to keep from bogging when load is put on the engine like from the a/c kicking in but there is a fine line between just right and a vac leak. The ecu corrects the idle adjustment after a short time so thats pointless.

LOL, aren't you not supposed to play with that screw? IIRC, according the to FSM, there should be another screw near there that is the proper one to adjust the idle.

OEM paint is much more expensive (but that is rediculous) and I think the least you can buy is a quart. Or they can use the cheap stuff and get it close for the whole car. I've had one of those cheap paint jobs and the problem is the prep and taping off on a cheap paint job is horrid.

yeah, and considering my whole flipping front bumper is one big rock chip, i NEED proper prep work done

And he said to use the proper mazda paint, it does cost more.

And that reply has come from 2 different autobody shops i called over lunch.

Both the same. They can respray the whole car with a VERY similiar color, but not exact for less than it costs to do the lip in teh specific mazda blue

Might save you some $$ but it will ruin your resale value

The only way i'm getting rid of this car is if it's totalled.

it'll be paid off not too much longer, then, if i want to start a project car, i'll have a wagon to tote parts around

This guy at a Mazdapalooza cut away his grille like below

IMG_9417.jpg

This is kind of something I was looking for with possibly a black mesh behind it, but not sure...was also thinking of just taking out all the honeycomb and smoothing the sides down...

I am just trying to find something to occupy my time...

I tried doing that with mine...cutting out all the honeycomb part. Not very easy to vice that thing and mill it out or cut it out at all with anything and not damage it. I ended up basically just cutting off the whole bottom part of the grill and then bolting my hacked up billet grill to it. I'm going to do something different soon with some black mesh and some sort of frame recessed and maybe putting the chromy "M" back in there.

on the white Pro5? I think it's off a Civic. He has a matching rear as well

Sad thing, that came home with best in show for Pro5's

But the lips don't even LINE UP! Oh well.

I guess I gotta clean up my car for Marchpalooza so i can be in competition. I need to remove that lovely wheel gap you can see in the first pic of the white pro5. Mine is on the left side of that pic

And get my lip painted.

I know what you mean, I had to take the K sports off and put the stock suspension back in. I went from not clearing curbs to monster truck. It's all funny lookin now haha

what have i done to my p5 today? well i was cleanin my shoes outside an i look up.. next thing u no im shine-n her shoes. lol..

i've done that before. I go outside to just wipe down the interior and 2 hours later, i've done a full detail.

Never happened to the Protege, but happened more than once on the Jeep.

But, maybe that's cause i never put the windows up when i went mudding

Drove her to pick up my Kenwood DNX8120 woot!

Welcome to the club! I absolutely love mine...

Seriously? That's unfortunate. I totally agree the lip looks totally out of place being so far off from the lines of the rest of the car. And the sub box that takes the entire cargo area... besides being overkill it doesn't look that interesting. If you're going to make the car that impractical you should at least do something new or intriguing with the box. (yawn) Just my opinion...

Anyway, I agree you should finish a couple things on your project list and show 'em what for at the next one! (rockon)
