I would've suggested this if there was enough meat on the neck. The fitting will have to be trimmed so it doesn't hit the cap. If you DO do this definitely use epoxy on the threads. I don't think it's going to work very well though.
Npt fitting might work...but you would have to drill that hole out pretty big.
Make the hole clean, make a nipple (sort of like a rivet) with a through hole and a head on it to go in from inside the neck... then epoxy from the outside. Npt fitting might work...but you would have to drill that hole out pretty big. Also make sure you don't interfere with the spring on the radiator cap or it won't open to relieve pressure.
***Do no just seal it off or you will crack the radiator for sure!
my an to NPT fitting in my aluminum rad is 1/16"NPT to -4 it replaced the aluminum neck piece perfectly and its not that larger of a hole.
Ahh good old rear main seal problems
