What have you done to your MSP today?

Im almost at the point where I just want to give up and throw a freaking brick through my windshield. Even started debating on parting the car out or selling it as is today just to get rid of the freaking headache. Nothing ever goes right with this damn car. After taking a weekend to install the 505 mani, I had to wait another two days for a coupler in the mail. That's five days if you include Friday. Got everything buttoned up, went to start the car and it died immediately. So, now I have spent another two days to figure out what is keeping the car from running. After fiddling with it all day today, I noticed one of the plastic rings fell off of one of the injectors. As excited as I was to finally have a starting point instead of fighting the car blindly, I started to loosen the mounting bolts for the fuel rail. Got one bolt loose just to find out that the other bolt somehow the nut is rounded out and appears to be cross threaded. I have tried everything to get that crappy ass nut off and nothing worked. So, with that being said, after all that I went through installing the manifold, it is coming right back off for a freaking stupid nut. With it being my only car, I set aside the weekend to do this and have everything laid out. To put the icing on the cake, my wife 's car wouldn't start earlier and she was stuck in an empty dark parking lot because I couldn't drive my car. She had to wait for a friend of hers to come. Ok, Im done venting. s*** is just frustrating.

CF hood. No idea if you know them

If you're down, there's probably a couple of meets you should come to for a bit. Hang out with another couple of the Mazda guys.

I wish I could, but this trip is strictly business. Been at work since 5:30pm thursday. I'm headed that way by 8am today, so hopefully I get off by 5 am so I can take a nap(doubtful). Probably end up napping on the way back.

I need some help please. I have an overflow tank (12" tall alum. Canister) that connects to the little "overflow" spout i guess, thats under the radiator cap. Few weeks ago it broke off right where the hose connects to the radiator. I'll try to post pic asap, im at work right meow tho. But anyways, it spews out steam like a tea kettle thru that tiny 1/4" hole after driving it. I have tried twice to reconnect it. With industrial strength superglue from work and then again on monday with tiny bit of glue to hold in place, and then caked the connection with some JB Weld "super epoxy" thats supposed to hold up to 2600psi. Well it blew off and i'm now again lookiing like a 1908 steamcar. Anybody have any ideas of how to permenantly re-attach it or to even just plug it so i can drive it without having to worry about overflow and everything (electric fan mainly) being covered in boiling coolant when it errupts? Thanks in advance

Sounds like you tried to glue on a contaminated joint, and at this point your only real option is to replace the radiator. It also sounds to me like you didn't just break off the overflow, but that the rad itself is broken, below where the pressure relief seats.

Hopefully it'll be easier to see when i post the pic. I'll have it up by 8am after work. But i dont think its broke, the connection very much is, i just think i need to get a new fitting on the hose to connect it to the Rad and then use the epoxy. As it is now, ive been trying to connect a hole to a hole, if that makes any sense. But after talkin to the 'weekend race car' guy here at work, i need the male into female connection before the 'holding material' is applied. He also gave me some putty that we use here on the old lathes and is $40 a tube? Called Minute Mend by CRC. Idk, got some ideas and i'll put pic up like i said and go from there. Then i need to find a turbo and fix the monitor in the dash.....ahhhhh! Man its a moneypit anymore.
Thanks alot for the quick response btw :-)

yeah dont boost that much on stock block.

Why not!?

Not only ONE side of the block, but both front and rear... Also cracked the oil pump/front cover!

lol i figured as much normally when i see them broken it's mostly just a hole in the middle of them. I rarely see them with a visible crack on the outside.

I'm gonna go ahead and replace the thermostat, is there a specific one you guys recommend or just any will do?

if you want the lowest temp tstat without it being a fail safe.. get teh 170 degree one from Napa. The fail safe ones like to stick open and cause a check engine light. Also if you live in a place thats cold.. good luck getting it upto operating temps with a stuck open fail safe tstat.

I'll just get the regular 180deg from Napa then. Temp needle was fluctuating again this morning. Let the car idle without the rad cap Wed night, did about 2.5 hrs of driving and it was fine, but this morning the same thing happened. WRX here I come. lol
