What have you done to your MSP today?

chipped right away, but I've experienced that with other colored lugs as well. They are nice and light though

dam, i searched around and they only offer the hex ones for the honda's

well thanks for the quick response.

I seriously doubt it will be anything that simple. I was thinking more along the lines of a blown headgasket, or something like that. But I commend your optimism!

Yep... Headgasket was my first thought too. Stated symptoms all point to it.

headgasket would do it as well. as long as its fixable and dont have to replace it right now, that would make my life a hell of a lot easier lol

a headgasket typically means that you are in for a LOT of labor, a new gasket, (ideally ARP head studs) and at minimum, have a machine shop check out the head. Personally if I had the head off, i'd be looking at port work and a valve job.

If it were my car, I would be praying it is something as easy as a turbo replacement instead, even if it is going to cost you another couple hundred bucks or so. lol

What have a done lately? Not a damn thing. But I'll be home for good in two days!!!!!!! I'll finally be be able to start posting some real updates again!! Feels good to be out of Iraq!! Had too many close calls with death

On my way to work got a check engine.. P0172 car started running insanely rich and wouldnt give me over 5psi. Im thinking primary o2 sensor maybe?

Ironically omw to work today mine threw the system to lean code....really wish I could get it to go away.

And so good to hear spiced. Lmk when you come up to sc to visit again.

Yeah now I don't think its the o2 sensor.. I'm not producing any boost at all. Vacuum is good so I'm thinking it could be the wga.. hopefully not the turbo.

I'd rather have to R&R the head gasket, book time is 6.6 hours. Even at my shop (and I'm a relatively expensive shop- specialize in European) you'd get out the door for probably $1300 whereas the turbo alone is going to cost you that. I can have the head off of an FS in no time at all. Plus it's a perfect time to do the timing belt and port the head. I sublet my machine shop work out, and for an FS I'd get charged about $110 to clean, check, machine and renew valve stem seals. Again, that's just my personal/professional opinion.

Lol no. It actually really pisses me off. I finally get all my check engine lights to go away. 4 days later this code comes on.

Any ideas on how to get rid of a lean code/what would cause it?
I'm going to take a wild guess and say you don't have a smoke machine lying around so that you can smoke test it, do you? Or a scan tool that shows live data and can record your short term and long term fuel trims along with o2 and maf inputs?

What generic DTC do you have? P0171?

Well none of that sounds good for my empty pockets lol as of now if it was that am I fine to continue to drive it sine it is driving fine as of now.... That's a lot of work and money .... My shop charges $67 an hr wich isn't bad, my buddy charges freindship lol or what ever I offer him . So what's the best way to go with this ..... ?

don't forget the other timing belt crap like bearings and might as well do the water pump, t-stat, and hoses.

LIES all LIES thats how you do it! lmao Sorry bro no idea how you go about fixign that one. I would say a leak but check your couplers and make sure theya re all tight. I would say a leak but thats less liekly due to you running relocated maf setup.

First of all, have a hydrocarbon test done to determine whether you've got exhaust gases entering the cooling system. I've never had a failed turbo be the culprit on a hydrocarbon test. A hydrocarbon test can be done in like 5 minutes. For the most part, I don't charge for hydrocarbon tests, but I'm not sure if other shops do or not. You could always go and buy the kit yourself. I think NAPA brought a flyer in a couple of weeks ago and it had one in there for $25 with the fluid. It's really simple and straight forward.

I don't remember the code off hand. And no I don't have a smoke machine. And the only thing I have to moniter the fuel Trims is my ssafc datlogging feature

Do a visual inspect of all your charge piping... If you don't find anything, I'd just take it somewhere and have a smoke test done. I charge .5hr of labor to do it. You'd be surprised what a smoke test can show. I thought I had all my couplers tight, and I mean I had them ******* tight! I decided to smoke test it one day after driving cor a few thousand miles since installing the FMIC and half of the couplers were leaking. They weren't huge leaks, but I was really surprised. Didn't throw an MIL either.

Okay, so I should start with that before anything elts ..? What would the actual test determine ..? Never heard of it before .... Exhaust leak in the coolent....

I'm only getting $1,800 from my tax return and I'm fairly certain I'm just going to spend it all on the MSP. All new mounts, Corksport exhaust, SSAFC, and a roof rack. But still not 100% on it...
