I've got either 215/45 or 225/40 on my Protege. Fits fine.
what are possible reasons for a car to turn over but not start?
I've come up with bad fuel pump, blown fuse, loose or disconected wire, bad coil pack, the car just hating me, karma, loose vaccum line, melted wires, sugar in the gas tank. That's all I can come up with at the moment.
When I was leaving job#1 the cart started like normal, started backing out of my spot and the car stalled and wouldn't restart. Atleast I got my free AAA tow in before the year was over. Now debating on turning it back to stock depending what's wrong.

add crank/cam sensors to that list as well. Happened to me, was driving down the road, all of a sudden, my car starts sputtering and just cuts off.
Had no idea what it was, turned out my crank sensor took a dump on me, right in the middle of driving.

The crank sensor has a wire that has pretty crappy insulation. Mine wore down and after doing the timing belt and water pump, my mechanic couldn't get it to start. It made an abrupt halt and sound when cranking. He saw the wire, covered it really well with electrical tape and voila.

As far as I can remember, if you pull the timing cover, you should be able to see it. Do you have a copy of the service manual Nate?

its right next to the crankshaft pulley, the wires lead up to the valve cover, and the connector is right in front near the cam gears, pretty much right next to where the cam sensor is.

Plan to hit the mountain Sunday for one last team drive. Then she's gonna pretty much sit for the next few months with some Sta-Bil in the tank, and wait for Spring. Then she's going to NC for a dyno tune by Joseph Davis.

That sounds awesome, I want to get a standalone for my MSP so I could get a good solid tune on her but I just dont feel like modding the protege any more.....

Ordered an Apexi turbo timer last night .....
I feel ya man, I think that all the time, but every time I go to sell it something happens and the deal falls through. I guess I'm just supposed to keep it, and go as far as I can with it. I mean, I know there are better platforms, and I could just cut my losses, sell the car for a crazy deal, and start with something else, but I just can't do it. I guess I like pain.

edit: you can use vacuum hose to replace the smaller coolant hoses if you have good quality ones.

So I'm driving and car does like an odd jerk kinda... I pull over POP the hood, hit pipe disconnected.... Looks like anti freeze was leaking out of it ..... Not good right ? It's a green greacy liquid ....
