ok so i've been having this stuttering issue for like 2 weeks now.
this is how the story begins. i decided to reloom and relocate basically most of my engine harness. went to harbor freight and got a bunch of their plastic looming. reloomed all the wires, that go the cam and crank position sensors, injectors, vtcs, vics, purge solenoid, fpc solenoid, iac, tps, egr, ect, both o2 sensors, and deleted the throttle body coolant line.
then on the way to one of the meets the car started stuttering. at first thought it was just bad gas, got some seafoam, and ran it thru like an actual IV drip into the brake booster vacuum line. after most of the seafoam was used thru the vacuum, let it sit for like 5 minutes, and just drove down the block, and it genuinely fixed it, boosting with no hesitation up to 8 psi ( just like it did before). parked it for about another 15 minutes, then left the buddies house and it started jerking and hesitating agian, as soon as i would try to put it under load/boost.
relocated everytihng back to stock.
here come the troubleshooting. boost leak tested it and replaced one of the couplers that was leaking. boost leak tested again, felt that there was air coming out of the drain hole on the wastegate, unplugged that (but never boosted over stock boost( starts stuttering above 3-4 psi)). tried replacing the ignition coils, the wires, the plugs (gaped properly). then got a buddies p5 new maf and map. tested the compression: 175, 171, 172, 180 psi. then tested the fuel pressure: 35psi at idle, and about 34 psi at wot with fuel coming out of the tester drain (what ever u call that test, fuel pump test). tried running with egr harness unplugged, with pressure regulator vaccum line unhooked, both vics and vtsc solenoids unplugged, using my bluetooth obd scanner verified timing, and throttle position, (both same as before the stutter). obd was also throwing pending codes for either cyl 1 or cyl 3 misfire.
long story short, went to pepboys, to use my buddies legitimate Snap On obd live data logger, during the test drive, started knocking. went home, compression tested again. half pulse compression and full compression for the following cylinders respectively. 90/175, 50/120, 90/175, 90/175. bad compression in cyl 2. drained the oil, and there was a shiny bronze flake ( sorta like nail polish) to the engine oil.
any suggestions other then the obvous, rings and bearings replacement?
