What have you done to your MSP today?

I think Ken is a nice guy to deal with, but Crossover has always shipped the parts to me 3 times as fast and at a cheaper price. Not to mention Sam is an expert on the MSP so he can tell you what you need and don't need.

Lol yeah that was my logic too but I like to double check cuz you never know when it comes to Mazdas Lol

yeah lighter, Gross Weight=4.65lbs. incl. Trigger wheel (O.E.M. damper weighs 5.1lbs.) but also dampens crankshaft torsional, axial and radial vibrations like stock.

All that for 1/2 lb weight savings? My medieval weighed barely over 2 lbs.

Anyways in an attempt to cool down the engine bay I removed the cowl weaterstripping and put washers to space the hood up some. And i cleaned up some of the wiring underhood.

Eh, if you are looking for effective cooling you would be better off with a carbon fiber hood that has the grille cutouts. It looks like somebody smashed into your hood.

removing the weather stripping off the back of the hodo will yeild the same results without the poor fittign hood look. Now with that said I did notice my power being more consistant with the weather strippign removed... Now if this mod makes a noticeabel improvement let me know because im curious... Now get better pics of the mod that doesnt make it look like crap.

wow, you have got to be the first person ive seen with one of those. those things are retarded expensive lol
I guess your paying for quality though, I had a OBX and one of the allen bolts holding the trigger wheel on backed out and destroyed my timing case and crank sensor in the process. I put the stocker on and im never looking back

After reading horror stories like that, 1/2 lb weight savings and quality was the motivation. As far as I know I am the only one running it but I haven't tried to find out either.

Its an undoubtedly ricer mod, I got it from the Honda world. Apparently it a JDM thing, lol. Seriously though it doesnt look that bad in person, it was free to do, took 5 minutes, and is 100% reversible back to stock. Obviously its not the same as a CF hood with cutouts but it cost me 10 washers i found in my garage vs a few hundred for a new hood (and I'm not the biggest CF fan anyway, on a scale from 1 to Outlawstar, I consider myself a 3). I did it because i only have 1 10" slim fan cooling the car and its working hard in this 100+ degree heat we have every single day.
I will get a better pic today

I'm starting to think the stock cats with 108k miles are restricting the already restrictive exhaust and now that I'm running a couple more lbs of boost, (going from the entire stock airbox/SMIC setup to an FMIC and SRI) it's causing the turbo to build up extra heat in the engine bay. I want to pull the stock midpipe and gut the cats

Why not just pick up a catless midpipe from this guy I know? LOL

I know I should, but if I bought a mid-pipe I would have to get a high flow cat for emissions testing. Gutting the cat would be virtually free.

After having the car a year, it's amazing how much i'm getting into modding it. I knew I would but I honestly never thought I would go as far as to install an FMIC, and now i'm already past that looking for the next batch of mods.
