What have you done to your MSP today?

^^I used 2 small and very long flat head screw drivers and just pushed from both sides lol when I did mine, it was a big PITA, but I didn't feel like taking of the exhaust mani and stuff, so I went that route, wasn't terrible, but definitely not fun

this is how i did it though with only one screw driver. requires a lot of finger dexterity and you are doing it pretty much 100% by feel.

how in the hell did you get to the e-clip without backing off the stock exhaust mani..? I cant even see the damn thing with a flashlight yet alone get to it. I can see right around where its at but thats it.

again, lots of jacking around. it involved a flashlight between 2 exhaust runners, me looking between another 2, and a long flat blade with a magnet on it trying to fish the E-clip down to where it needed to be. I'm going to estimate somewhere in the realm of the 50th attempt i was successful.

ya, I thought I did it with just one, but couldn't remember if I was able to push it far enough off with one, but I was thinking that it would have been pretty strange with 2. but just put it on the same way, just held it with one hand and pushed it on with a screwdriver with the other, scrapes up the knuckles a lot digging around in there too haha, and usually can't have gloves on because you can't hold onto the clip then.. makes you wonder what the mazda builders were thinking with some of this stuff, kinda like the left side bolt of the intake mani under the runner.. was a huge pain to get that out/on when I did mine

i just pushed mine off enough that i could rotate it very gently downward and pluck it out with my fingers. for putting it back on i pushed it on as far as i could with just finger tip then used the flathead to push it home. very fiddly both cases. took a while cause i was afraid of shooting it out. but you can buy those clips at hardware stores wholesale. nothing special about it.

MSP 1345 is currently at 99,969 miles and in need of a bath. Still has the numbers on from the track on sunday, where I had a BLAST. I need to make this car much faster than it is but it handles great! My instructor had a Black 07 Speed3 he drove from Canada that had Mazdaspeed springs, catback, and CAI, and a Cobb custom tune and FMIC with 19 psi.

I think my clutch is going out... If I don't let it out fast enough and give it enough gas, the whole car shakes and I hear this horrible clanking noise. I originally thought it was the motor mounts, but having just replaced all 4 of them with solid mounts, that is not the case. Is this what people call "clutch chatter"? Or does it sound like something else? If I have to replace the clutch I may as well get a slightly stiffer one. My ultimate goal with this car would be no more than 250whp so I don't need anything ridiculous because it needs to be streetable.

Just get. Stage 1. Plenty. I got a good deal on my spec 2+ but its a 6 puck and SUCCCKS in traffic ... Dunno about sounds but mine seemed to do the same after doing the motor mounts. More stress on clutch since motor doesnt move i guess.

What brand do you guys recommend? I know the stocker is an exedy, and I thought the stage 1 was basically a stock replacement? If I could get like a stage 1+ I think that would suffice.

I'm running the same clutch and it's always been easy to drive to me. Did you put in a lightened flywheel or anything? Just wondering if it's something else making it less driveable.

I had an Exedy Stage 1 and it held well over 300whp for much much longer than it should have and only slightly stiffer than stock feel
