What have you done to your MSP today?

should have the car back form the trans shop finaly. just got the last piece in the mail.the only damn thing that i was wainting on was a reverse lock out plate that had broken along with the LSD.

Soooooooooooooooo....

Took all of 4 hours to do my clutch yesterday. Very easy trans to pull out. Get it all back together, crank the car up and its running great... for about 2 minutes then the idle starts bogging down like its got a vac leak.
Pops the CEL, and I've got a P0171 which was already there, a P0013 Bank 1 Sensor 1, and a P0103 MAF or VAF High Input.

Car ran fine on the 40 miles I drove it to work, then did the clutch, and now this s***.
Yes, the MAF is plugged in, and I pulled the o2 and the sensor lead is popped, buuuut it was that way prior.
So either A. it took a complete dump, B. Vac leak somewhere I can't see C. my cars a dick.

I'm getting mine running 100%, selling it, and buyimg another Genesis Coupe.

Dude, I've been working on this for about 2 and a half years now. If you noticed my last post you will understand that is pretty much impossible with these cars. I would check your MAF code in the service manual to see a list of possible causes. I believe the website is floptical.net

And like wagon said, the Genesis wasn't much better from what you were saying.

wow...a problem that you created and your mad that the car isnt running right?
if it was running right before the clutch, and then after it starts running like ass then Im assuming you ****** something up.

This car has been an ongoing headache.
I'll be settling mysrlf into a 3.8 Coupe. The 2.0 I would never deal with again.
the msp has been fun for the 5 days its run right. Buying this car was a major error in judgement.

I find 90% of MSP problems are poor maintenance, lack of understanding, lazyness, or other operator error.

Its an enthusiast car, and if you don't pay attention and do s*** correctly, you'll end up with problems.

As for the genesis... how did you have issues not covered by a warranty already? That confuses me.

I do alot of work on my car, and it always has issues popping up. So its the MSP the the user lol! And some MSP's are flawless for some reason (i know a few) others keep having small issues over and over.

True. Mine has been well maintained (since new, I didn't take over until 68K miles so I don't take credit) and isn't beaten on daily. Yes, it popped a diff. Yes the rear bushings went, yes, the HU and amp blew, yes, the WGA leaked. But all of those things were dealt with, and it runs like new (aside from fuel cut in the cold). If you start modding heavily... you're pretty much asking to break s***. Don't b**** about it, its expected. lol I've paid 2 grand in repairs to keep a car on the road for 40K miles. I can definitely live with that.

Bingo!!! My P5 has been the most reliable car for me even with around 350whp :) in its most recent years!
One thing that was a benefit to me was starting off with a haltech when I originally crossed over instead of being stuck with the source of most problems... the finicky mazda tune!

Mostly because of this forum...lots of help and inspiration and unfortunately the need for more boost which is a little teeny bit addictive ;)

If I could afford a new car with a warranty I wouldn't drive or buy a 9 year old car that is known for having problems.

weren't you just bitching about how horrible they are last week?

Might we have my M247.com replacement? lol

Right on. I actually miss my MSP ALOT. It had tons of problems and I'd still take back getting rid of it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I have a new beast to pay off (and she will be by the end of the year) so who knows what'll happen.
