What have you done to your MSP today?

Yea I don't plan on hacking my pipes up anymore just to move the BOV, but if I were to start fresh it would be considered.

Speaking of new things, I'm going to look at an MSP my dad found at a local auction today. He told me it's a bit ratty and has 90k, but the guy is asking 3k for it and I'm thinking I may part it out / swap mods for my car. All I know right now is that it's yellow, has a dg lip, fmic, recaro seats, black wheels, and a momo steering wheel. So to me it sounds like money is to be made on this car. We shall see once I give it a look.

I say you fix it up and turn a profit on the car instead. Parting these things out because they're "ratty" makes me wanna cry.

That's a possibility as well. Depends what his definition of ratty is, since he is really picky it could be in decent shape.

please don't part out a working car. if it's a salvage or rebiuld title or may as well be that's one thing. A little elbow grease never hurt anyone

for 3k though? i mean, unless its been FS for a looooong time, i doubt it. or said person is leaving the country, or they blew the LSD or something and want nothing to do with it anymore

Well went to look at it, and yup it was a salvage title. Motor didn't sound too great, but had some nice mods. It sold for 3300, which was too much if you ask me so I didn't buy it.

Well it was sold by the time I got a peek at it, and it was parked along a fence between 2 other cars so I couldn't get a decent shot. :( I wanted to look under the hood but I didn't want the new owner to see me and think I'm stealing lol.

got ya. im seeing our MSPs come up for sale more and more... either they are all starting to break or people are just getting sick of them... im all ass backwards as it is, going from my subaru to mazda. lol most do the opposite. but i am pretty much convinced and ok with the fact that im gonna be like the honda owners and just have like four proteges sitting in my front yard. :) I dont care if they are slow, in my eyes the mazdaspeed protege was one of if not the last rare production car for under 25k made. i just simply love these cars. :)

Damage is in on the MSP...

Amidoinitrite?

wow... for a min i was like WTF? but now... wow? so it wiped your crank? i must admit though, not bad for the fact that you ripped on it pretty good. :) i hope when mines back up and running i can have some fun again.

moved the bov to the hotside to make room for 3" intake pipe. should have use a bigger peice to patch lol. ah well, if it really bothers me, ill cut the section of pipe out and put a short straight length in place. again. havent cleaned any of the joints yet. just wanna get everything mocked up first.

i like the blow off sound more this way too. was a lot higher pitched at poppy on the cold side for some reason. on the hot side, seems more relaxed and more.. pshhhhhhhhh. instead of PPPPSHHH!

hard to explain. ha.

Just seafoamed my engine. I seem to be missing my upper left manifold bolt.

Edit: Yeah, I suck with cameras.

Hey Valk, how does your car run with the relocated MAF? Any lean issues? I had a lean idle for some reason when I relocated, and it was about the same distance from the TB.

I don't have a wide-band so i couldn't tell you, but overall, she runs better now than stock location. idle doesn't bog down as much and throttle seems more responsive.

bov is still loud, just not as piercing as it was on the cold side.

I believe the noise difference with the BOV being on the hot side rather than the cold is because the cold side has a higher density, therefore the air is thicker to pass through the BOV... Dont quote me on it but thats my theory. :)

its a theory, but the temp change shouldn't make a profound difference. I'm thinking it may be because the IC baffling changes the flow characteristics upon decompression whether the BOV is between the compressor and it, or on the other side of the compressor.
