What have you done to your MSP today?

hope u get ur car back up and running. dude i hate them coilpacks. first time i had an issue with them, i couldnt figure it out cuz bad coilpacks never gave me a CEL. it just wanted to run on 2 cylinders when it decided to die and i was on the highway in pouring rain lol
 
only exhaust and the crank pulley is fine. im trying to upload a picture of a plug that the wire got pulled out of a plug. the plug is going to a little black box with one bolt through the bottom. it bolts to the little piece of metal that bolts to the head where the distributer would be on the older fs motors. its got a couple other grounds going to the plate. could it just be a ground and could it cause it to not start? sorry thats the best description i can come up with.

i know the wire you are talking about. It goes to a capacitor dampener (the little black box) for the ignition system. Make sure its not shorted to ground otherwise the car wont start. I had a problem with that wire before, caused my old msp to completely die once.
 
well after talking to simon, he says he thinks the coils ground out through the head, which would make sense. any other input?




and i checked the timing. all the timing is right. the cams are right where they should be. 1st cyl lobes facing outward opposite, I and E line up at tdc. im getting pretty frustrated. idk why its not starting. i reset the ecu and no check engine light came on. idk...

Stupid thing to check: There is a fuse I believe called meter in the fusebox of the engine compartment. Once I had swapped an engine and for some weird reason that fuse blew. I changed it and the car started right away. You never know.
 
well i checked a few things in the engine bay fuse box, and the fuse/relay labeled MAIN was blown on one side so i replaced it. and its still not starting. im hoping the battery is about dead. found out traditional battery chargers dont charge optima gel filled batteries. :)

Hmmm... a little issue here. I'm switching out my summer tires for snows and taking off the wheel spacers in the meantime. It seems the nuts they gave me are made of lead and are the softest things in the world. One of the nuts that holds the spacer to the hub has rounded off and is being a stubborn little b****. Any suggestions as to how to get the asshat off?

Torch and vice grips? Gatorgrip socket? Never tried the gator grip thing, but I have heard that they work reasonably well. Another option is taking a socket that is slightly small, and hammering it onto the nut, and then working the nut loose; you will likely lose the socket...
 
Well maybe the MSP is trying to tell me it needs to be parked and I go pick up a $1000 beater to use during the winter and sell next spring...
 
except you will still have this problem come spring. just cut the ****** off and get a new bolt/stud. with winter tires, msp is pretty awesome in winter so far =)
 
msp is up and running! have a vac leak but it runs pretty good! and i will be fixing the vac leak this week. im so excited. i forgot how short the twm shifter is after driving my bros sho taurus lol
