What have you done to your MSP today?

got my kartboy shifter bushings today.

noobish question though. do these replace the black bushings at the transmission, or do they go under the shifter itself?

what takes more time and is harder to do; changing all vac lines or looking for a vac leak?

Just bought a my first Snell approved helmet for SCCA. No more swetty used helmets, yes. Can't wait to use it.

Transmission end... the stock bushign is a pressed in peice of rubber. I had to cut mine out to make life easier.

Depends on how your go about checking for a vac leak... Also you can just zip-strip each vac line down at the ends and call it a day...

I dont know how to go about it, first time i had to look for one, right now im just looking for cracks and splits and finding nothing but still have a vac leak, will eventually check the manifold to see if it is cracked and if so its jb weld time lol, i just figured since these appear to be the original vac lines i might as well replace them all

Was going to go get the tries put on today but i think ill wait till monday. Picking up a set of MattV projector headlights soon.

You can do that, a smoke test(shops generally would have to do this), you can also do a boost leak test with soapy water which will also show the vac leaks as well as boost leaks.

What did I do today?

Well I broke the bolts holding my factory smic to the rad, leaving the studs inside, then broke my radiator trying to shimmy it out. After dumping coolant all over my garage I drilled out the broken bolt and got the SMIC off the rad. Now on the market for a new radiator.

It's a good thing i love this car more than i hate it.

not sure how i feel about these bushings yet. shifter seems to move easier though shifting seems to take more effort and feels more clunky.

ah well. im sure they will grow on me the more i drive it.

Sounds like you over-torqued the bolt on the bushing. Did you torque it to factory spec?

ill get back under there and check tommorrow.

still curious how this would change anything since the bolt its on doesnt even move...
