What have you done to your MSP today?

Picked up my replacement wheel and replacement tire from having everything mounted and balanced -- now it's only the delay of the rotors that's holding up the de-winterization.
Turns out the guy that mounted my tires and whatnot used to own a MSP. He asked me what I had done to the car today, and I started with the usual, "It's turbocharged from the factory." But he said he already knew. That definitely caught me by surprise, and you could've picked me up off the floor when he said he's a former MSP owner.
Best thing he said: "Yeah, I traded mine in cause I got sick of s*** breaking on it all the time." All I could do was laugh helplessly.

we finished the tranny, wired the mpi, map sensor, bled brakes,installed hood/trunk/wing...put the suspension back together...installed a sandwich plate...etc...this was all just sunday.

I changed my oil and oil filter for the first time!!!!! I didn't expect the old oil to shoot out like that(eek2) ... I got the oil pan in postition pretty quick, though. I also changed my air filter.
It doesn't sound like much, but I've never been under the hood (much less under the car while it was on jackstands). I stunk of oil and ruined a perfectly good t-shirt, but I was actually kinda proud.

So you've got a oil stain in your driveway, too. (eekdance) It's cool, though. It's kinda like you're taking care of the car as opposed to just "owning" it. (<- Kinda cheezy, but...)boostdprotegelx said:
The best part is, while it took me two hours to get it all done (an hour to drain the oil and change the filter and add the oil, and an hour in between that hour to actually find the filter...), it was STILL faster than it would've been at my local dealership.

no..that's not right..it should take every bit of 2 hours..we all know that when someone goes to do their oil, they should find other things to do in the mean time. it should start off w/ everythign ready for a 15 minute oil change, and end in a complete rebuild..or something of that nature.!!lolChopstickHero said:you'll get it done in 15 mins next time. that's how long it should really take.
Tried to fix the overheating problem... and failed. (i think). if you guys can check out the thread, if you've got any ideas i'd much appreciate it.

Noticed that I am missing an exhaust manifold bolt! ghetto!!! the other manifold bolts were somewhat loose. i could still tighten them with the wrench. Anyways, what size/length are these bolts? I believe they take a metric 12 socket....

I did a restoration detail. I spent roughly 4 hours completely detailing every aspect of the car that is seen on a daily basis. Pulled the front seats out, shampoo and vac, nook and cranny plastic detail, hot water bath for the wheels to remove brake dust, and a mild cut and buff followed by a mean wax job. Car looks and smells just like it would have back in 03.
