What have you done to your MSP today?

bought two new tires and got the wheel locks broken off because I lost the key......

just for future reference, the same thing happend to me, and i took my car to the mazda dealer and they have an entire box with all the different wheel lock keys, and they take them off for free

haha, yea our mazda wheel locks are like 1 in every 7...my lug key happened to fit my buddies msp like two mazfest's ago hahaha

Also if you still have your spare key there is a little metal tag attached to that ring with a number on it. That is your wheel lock code and most tire stores have all the keys and just need your code to get the right one.

i bouht a Perrin Ram air intake that should be in the mail today(if everything works out) im excited because its my first power adder mod.

so i never had my question answered. i took off my mufler and test pipe and am running an open mid pipe. is there any power gains from this?

from a purely technical standpoint yes there is gains. Turbos don't like backpressure so you are eliminating that. But other factors like tuning, your setup, if the sky is blue, etc will dictate if it's worthwhile or not.

especially the sky thing... MSP's seem to care about weather conditions more than most cars... mine was SCREAMING on my lunch break today... lol

I know exactly what you mean... some days my MSP screams.. and others it just decides to make alot of noise and not pull lol

mine does this really cool bogging out thing sometimes, right when it gets to full spool, and only over 75% throttle. Every time it does I suspect the WGA, but... then there are days like today where it breaks the tires loose at like 4500 rpm in 1st, and then rips through second.

I'm posting it a bit late, but I purchased the AXR rear sway bar bracket kit from Metallic36, I'm just waiting to receive shipment.

I've also decided to purchase a Fidanza flywheel and Exedy Stage 1 clutch when I get paid on the 25th. I just haven't decided which vendor to buy them from. If only we had a "Lending Tree" style format where vendors bid/fight for your business, LOL.

I'm quite nervous about the flywheel and its effect on daily driving. Once it's installed, I won't have the money to do anything for a loooong time if I decide I don't like it.

other than having to slip the clutch a bit more from a stop, you shouldn't notice any drivability problems. The RPMs when unloaded will change a lot faster, both up and down... but like most anything else, once you get used to it you shouldn't have any problems.

Stuff like this is what makes me sure these cars are female. Sometimes they're crazy good. Other times they're just... crazy.

To be honest, I never felt a difference with the Fidanza flywheel. Maybe it's because mine isn't a daily driver but after 50,000 miles of the regular flywheel you think you'd notice a difference. The only thing I ever heard that was different is that it would go through the gear faster. Never had any issues with having to slip the clutch at all though...

You didn't feel any difference at all? Or just in driveability?

I've got 101,000+ miles on the stocker, so I'm hoping there's a difference in performance.
