What have you done to your MSP today?

Fixed my carbon fiber hatch key hole on truck cover thing haha.

And installed 1/2 of the Trunk cage from GT Spec

You have to extend the 02 sensor wires on the SLS midpipe with high flow cat?? Hm... I am installing my midpipe this weekend.. is there an easy way to do this?

I've got the SLS catless midpipe also. I just did mine this weekend. Its really not all that hard. All you need is some extra wire (14 gauge I think is what I used). I got everything I needed from Advance Auto. Splice into the O2 wiring, solder them together, then weather proof it. Took me all of about 20 minutes.

That sucks that you have to buy your own wire. Should come with the pipe like Vibrant included with thiers, all cut to length.

.....And also the midpipe was touching the bracing underneath so when the car was on it would vibrate against it and be annoying as hell. I just took a hammer and bent the bracing about an inch or so to accomodate for the midpipe.

Hey, I see you also have the SP2. My exhaust vibrates like hell also, but its more towards the rear. Did you have that problem also? Or was it just in the front for you? I've been trying to figure out how to come up with a fix.....

It only set me back like 7 bucks for everything....so I didn't care. It was worth getting rid of that annoying CEL for not having the 2nd O2 plugged in.

Sure I understand it wasn't expensive. Just seems logical for the company to include that with the product for convience since they know you have to extend the wires. Save you the trip time so you can rock your car that much sooner. Doesn't sound like much but it makes a difference and says a lot when a company thinks of the small things.

Definitely got a point there. Can't argue that. I wondered about it when I put it on and realized my O2 wouldn't reach. It would have been nice to have those wires included. Unfortunately I purchased it used, so I was out of luck either way. LOL

Isn't there a way you can extend the 02 sensor without splicing the wires? I vaguely remember reading something about that on here, but can't seem to find it in the search.... anyone know what im talking about?

I believe you can buy an O2 extension, but I searched all over the place and couldn't find a part number. Not to mention every auto parts store I went to, they looked at me like I was crazy, stating that part doesn't exist for our car.

Yea if u undo the clips and reroute the wiring harness you get the length needed to put it in. JDM sam posted it a while ago.

I looked through all the threads JDM sam has started but not having any luck. Pretty sure I just follow the wire back from the 02 sensor and unclip it whereever i find a clip and run it straight down the firewall instead of over the Intake manifold.

Also, another quick question... the 3 bolt metal gasket that mates the j-pipe to the s-pipe is reusable correct?

yea u can reuse those as long as its not rusted or torn to s***.

yea instead of going over the intake mani, run it doen the firewall. tahts what i did.

I guess i'll just hope its in decent shape lol. Can i find that metal gasket at an autozone? or am i going to have to order that from mazda?

no the 3 bolt is definately mazda. Its just enough different from any standard flange that it wont seal well.

I didnt get my rear lip sag fixed, it was raining and they couldnt do it if there was a lot of moisture in the air
