What have you done to your MSP today?

MSP ECUs don't get along too great with cold weather in general. My idle has been doing some weird things lately, but I've had a CEL for most of the time since the temp dropped... 02 sensor issue that I've yet to fully diagnose.

question for people with the turbohoses hardpipe:
does the hump hose coupler go on the part where the hotpipe and coldpipe connect to the intercooler or does it go where the hotpipe hooks to the turbo and the colpipe connects to the tb?

Question for people with SRI's:
did your sri come with a brace to hold the Intake pipe and filter in one spot or does it kinda just sit there? i ask cause mine moves like crazy and it is scratching the hell out of the plastic on the air filter housing. Any ideas on where to get a brace or how hard it is to make one?

you could go to the hardware store and buy a light piece of alumnium bar stock and a hose clamp. Use the hose clamp to hold the end of the bar stock (bend over a tab to seat the hose clamp in against the intake), and then bend the other end to wherever you need to go to find a decent mounting point. This would at least hold you over until you aranged for a more perminant solution, likely involving a welder.

same here but it doesn't idle at 3k rpms  ...more like 2k. when it's cold out anyway.

My MSP doesn't idle at 2K except right when I start it up and it's only for about 5 minutes or so. Then it goes back down to just under 1K. Of course, here in GA it hasn't been too cold lately (with the exception of the other week when it was 17 degrees but felt like 7).

From the pictures I've seen everyone puts the hump couplers at the IC connections. IIRC, hump couplers are used where movement is expected.

I have a custom SRI that goes from the compressor inlet all the way over to the hole in the driver's side fender. I don't have any bracing on it but I also don't really have a problem with movement. Is everything nice and tight and the intake pipe pushed far enough into the coupler?

yeah but with the turbo and the engine movement it moves up and down, i can also move it with my hands, i have a hump hose coupler connecting the sri and the turbo

upgrade your front motor mount... you won't regret it

I believe this is why you have all the motion. Like I said in most post above hump couplers are used where motion is expected so they allow movement. I guess I didn't really make that very clear. Back when I was N/A with the K&N CAI it had a hump coupler at the connection of two pipes between two bracing points. I always assumed this was so stress was reduced on the braces. If you can, try using a regular straight coupler there and see how that works.

Just threw 3 different CELs on the way home, WTF?!

P0113 - IAT input too high
P0171 - Bank 1 System too lean
P0128 - Thermostat temp too cold

I understand P0171 but I have absolutely no idea on the other two. I haven't done anything to the car aside from adding coolant/oil for over two months and now today I get these. What gives?

The IAT is still in the stock location except the MAF is relocated and the only thing I've changed with the cooling system is the radiator, which is the Corksport with two 12" SPAL fans. Is high IAT voltage colder or warmer temperatures? I know temperature increases resistance so I would think high IAT voltage means it's reading too cold of a temperature. It's not exceptionally cold today, maybe 30 degrees but it has been colder in the past. Could the thermostat temp one be a result of a stuck-open thermostat?

yea we have long winters in the northeast :( and they can be pretty harsh.

Just finished up my Thunder exhaust manifold install :) went great. Pulled the turbo and mounted the mani and put it all back in :)

relocated MAF yesterday. now im taking out innocent pedestrians with the wrath of my type S bov.

no turkey, all dump(thumb)
