What have you done to your MSP today?

Problem is getting worse, i am 100% certain i put 93 octane in. now i dont even have to get near boost under normal driving it goes and slows down drastically, goes and slows down drastically all while im keeping even pressure on the gas pedal. It feels like someone is driving a manual trans for the first time the way it is driving. it even acts like it wants to stall and comes close, but when idling it is fine. i dont know

forgot to mention that the past few days i have noticed a burning smell coming from the engine bay but figured it was the smell of the new wga

Im taking it to my mechanic to have him hook up the computer to see what is wrong. i am at the limits of my car knowledge as to what is happening, i tested the wga and it is fine, idle is fine so im ruling out vac leak, i dont know what else it could be

Sounds like a bad MAF sensor, also a bad o2 Sensor... you should check them both out, i had same problem back at the days when my car were using MAF and o2 sensors...

Remove it, and buy MAF Sensor cleaner, the MAF has a needle inside, if that is broken, or dirty the car will act how is yours acting, swap the o2 Sensor in the turbo manifold from the one you have in the Cat... you should also find out what is going on pluging a OBD-II Trouble codes reader..

i have maf sensor cleaner, cleaned it about two months ago, ill check it, im taking it to my mechanic to have him plug the car in to see what is going on

Autozone or Advanced Auto can check for OBII codes if I am not mistaken. Of course if you are going to a mech anyhow may as well just let him do it.

To be honest, i rather reading the codes before going to the mechanic.. these days mechanics are no as honest as in the past. your car might have something simple messed up, and you might end up paying a fortune for something simple, i hope you know what i mean, they can smell and tell when somebody don't have enough knowledge that is the worst thing that can happend to you.

True that. My wife's car was taken to a mechanic because of a strange engine noise that I couldn't decode. I even posted the problem with pics and vids on here in the GACC section and nothing. The mechanic said (and I quote) "Oh it'll be fine. It's a Honda Civic. If it were me, I'd just drive it until it breaks. It's probably nothing." Those were his direct words. The VERY NEXT DAY, on her way to work, her engine completely stopped before leaving the subdivision. Come to find out her ac compressor was seized. So the next mech we took it to (who specializes in Mazdas and one of the mechs drives an RX7 in his spare time) cut the ac belt and she was on her way. Minus the AC of course.

All I'm saying is be careful. The first mech we went to was her mechanic for years. Always had great service. They kept offering her 2K for her 98 Civic (with 130K miles.). Two days after it seized up, we asked them if they still wanted it and they said they would only give us 500 bucks for it now. Kind of coincedental if you ask me.

Today, I removed this:

I know this mechanic real well, i worked for his wife, am friends with his nephew and have been going to him ever since i got my license. he cuts me breaks alot and often only charges me wholesale price on parts. I know he wont screw me that is why im just gonna take it to him, but thank you for the concern anyway

I got the verdict, IT WAS A LOOSE COUPLER! at least since i knew the mechanic i wasnt charged for anything and he tightened it up for me. thank God that was an easy fix

Its true you should check the code with the car before taking it to a mechanic. I got a friend who is a mechanic and sometimes its something small as bad sparkplugs and he charges up the ass. Krama wil get him eventually. Dont trust all mechanics espically with how the economy is now.

did my oil change yesterday. And its running so much better. the mod bug is making me itch. Hmm...what should i get...

Is it cold out? if so that is normal, my idle doesnt go to the normal range until my temp gauge is in the middle
