What have you done to your MSP today?

I would leave your trunklid alone as it is, and buy another one from a wrecker that doesn't have a spoiler, or just the regular sedan soiler. take a shot of painting it yourself. the black on these cars isnt really that hard. if the trunk you buy is in decent shape, it will be a scuff and spray.

im sure you could get a craigslist person to paint it for your if shop/workspace is a problem.

Disassembled the spare block from 2566 the performance shop in NJ that built this car should not be allowed to touch any vehicles.
The block was put together bwith enough RTV for a battle ship.
Things of note
stock Pistons were all burnt and had detonation damage, oil was burnt to he'll, valves were not making a perfect seal from build-up, bolts were loose all over the place including the head. Intake side looks to be ported and valves are oversize but exhaust was stock and nothing done to get the exhaust gas out.

Just happy my motor is forged.
Will clean up the lines and turbo for sale.
I will have two whole setups stock and a T28 setup with fmic and AWR full size radiator oil water lines oil cooler whole setup for sale. Once everything is clean.

Finally got my MSP #1574 to boost. Replaced the WGA today and it is running great. Did a boost leak test and couldn't find any leaks and I sprayed all around the piping for about half an hour. It hits about 11-12psi unfortunately and it hits fuel cut but i'm just glad its finally boosting. It feels fast as hell on 11psi, more powerful than my other MSP feels on 9psi. Going to install the FTC in it asap probably tomorrow then I can start cleaning up the paint and get the tires and rims figured out.

change my plugs today and swapped coil packs from the other car. so one of those two things but the car runs perfect now. no stumble, smooth power across all rpm and throttle ranges. she did however consume an aweful lot of oil. guess its just the high milage it doesnt smoke on start up.

ah well. its kind of the trial run for rebuilding the msp anyway. if i get 20-40000km on the boosted p5 ill be happy.boosting it is pretty just because it will cost me nothing lol.
the body is mint now that i finished up some paintwork so ill just keep her around and running with whatever i can find.. maybe electric ;)

Question, I just bought a 03.5 msp wing but what do I cover the original holes with in the middle of the trunk (from the middle part of the 03 wing)? I'm afraid a body shop will cost an arm and leg. Any other solutions?

I had that exact thing done. I spent $280 to have a shop weld and paint. Honestly, if I were to do it again I would have gotten a trunk from the junk yard and had my buddy (who painted the wing) spray the trunk. Cheaper and a lot less work.

So stoked about this 03.5 wing. Most of you already have it so it doesn't seem like much but when u have the mp3 style it makes a big difference. I'll post pics once everything is installed.

still want an 03 style.. black... prefered.. but shipping would murder me. actually doesnt matter what color cause i have the black mica paint already.. but not having to paint it would be great.

Glad to hear you got the issue sorted out. Was the spring broken in the old one?

After messing with it for so long I am on cloud 9. I can't tell what is wrong with the old WG, it still has pressure I can feel the spring in it and it takes a good bit of force to move it but the new WG takes considerably more pressure to move the arm, was difficult to get it on the stud on the turbo but not impossible. Probably why it is boosting so high. I guess that WG was just 'bad'.
This car's ODO is at 111,109 and I wanted to have the boost issue fixed by the time it hit 111,111 which will finally happen today!

id totally do that for the wing. though im over my budget for this pay period atm lol. ill hit you up in a couple weeks maybe?

i guess in a couple years ill be looking to either buy a whole parts msp, or several body parts heh. my wife is gonna get my rear splitter as well. her car gonna look pretty bad ass.. now all i need is a good deal on sensible lowering springs. or tiens for mine so i can give her my sportlines.
she will definitely have the nicest non msp sedan in town thats for sure.

got my turbo out and investigating the new seals and lines ill need to buy. didnt have any issues at all mating the turbo to the pope downpipe though? not sure what the problem you were having was horns. maybe just the wrong gasket?

havent decided if i want to fish out the oil cooler yet. is it something a turbo car desperately needs? "noob question but im asking it" im gonna reuse the stock oil drain and the metal parts for the coolant supply/return. gonna tap into the cooling system at the appropriate points but i want to use a new oil supply line. how long of a line should i plan to buy? 4 ft seems excessive, but 2ft prob not enough.

i guess the bigger questions are directed at alamo1; an-3 or-4. i seem to remember not needing a restrictor for ballbearing turbo? atp turbo has a mazda protege sub section but they dont list a block tap fitting. so is there a specific bspt fitting i should be looking for. maybe im better to have someone who knows what is needed to ship it all to me heh.

Haven't touched the MSP since parking it. Other than starting it and idling it for a little while. Haven't touched the 8 either. Or the Accord. Or anything else that I need to get done that I've managed to put off. I have the 8's transmission sitting at the shop. Just need to pick and time to throw it in. I couldn't get it into third gear the other day. That was fun. First, fifth, sixth and reverse. Does anyone else own a rotary-powered vehicle? If so, you can understand how incredibly frustrating it would be and difficult to drive without second, third or fourth. I had to wind first out to 10k, then go to fifth and lug it. Later that night, on my way home from work, I was pissed off and JAMMED it into third gear. It went into gear. Great! Then, as I was approaching a red light, I shifted into neutral. Attempted to, I should say. It was stuck in third. Frantically, I began to yank on the shifter in an attempt to free it before the light changed to green and it finally came out of gear, but had limited movement. I just worked it in every direction, it freed up and I was able to go into gear again and third is back. If I hadn't been able to get third gear back, I'd have already replaced the transmission. I had all weekend to do it, but after working two 65-hour work weeks back to back, I couldn't force myself to work on the car this weekend. Maybe this Saturday...

MSP- Replace the transmission and turbo.

Rx8- Replace the transmission, front pads/rotors, plugs/coils/wires, oil service.

Accord- Disassemble, clean and lubricate the front caliper guides and an oil service.

And I've got four people wanting me to look at their cars.. I don't have time for my own stuff, let alone theirs.
