What have you done to your MSP today?

If you check the link clever; the lower body of the shocj has a collar on it as well which let's you change the length of the sleeve that connects to the spindle. With thay, you can set preload however you like with the spring collar but ride height by making the bottom of the shock longer or shorter. You don't change the amount of preload nor do you compress the strut at static, reducing its overall travel and effectiveness.

Yes exactly my point lol. To change ride height with BC's, ksport's and fortune's you just spin the bottom collar/mount until you like what you see. No changing preload or stroke length. No messing about with the shock itself. Just the mount to the hub portion, just like tein's.

Ill look into it but most coilovers I've seen for msp just have a colar for adjusting the lower pearch of the spring, compressing thr shock to lower the car.
It is possible bc racing has a new model I'm not aware of though.

coil sleeves do that. like the ground control sleeves.

ksports have a threaded shock tube

and a lower mount that has threads and can go up and down by spinning it.

I'm pretty sure BC's and fortune and yellow speed and tein are all like this.

cleverfrog is right. the bc's, ksports, d2's, yellowspeeds, etc adjust like the pix shown above. the only ones i can recall that compress the spring to lower the car are coil sleeves and tein superstreets

It's the same thing on my BC coilovers.

I didn't realize that! Good to know and ill save almost $1000 lol.
Bc coils still a good safe street strut or ksport? I won't go to the track that often if at all I just want to have adjustable ride height and a civil ride quality.
Coils kinda last on the list but if I steal the msp tokikos for mx3 ill need em heh.

i have bc's on swift springs. these things ride comfier than my previous spring/strut setup (H&R's & stock struts). i also had fortune coilovers before (7k/5k) and they rode really really rough to the point to where i didnt enjoy my car. that really turned me off to coilovers but then i rode in someone elses car with coils and swift springs which is the reason i gave the swift springs a try.

if u were closer i'd give you a ride but you just had to live so far away lol.

LOL, if you want comfy don't get ksport "RR" type. which are for track racing. very stiff. Honestly I think it's about what color you want your suspension to be anymore.

Well I like my eibach sportlines a lot. I just don't like the kick in the kidney overy every bump. Or the violent bottoming out of the strut when I hit a small rut. Our roads are pretty bad. Need a confident setup. I'm pretty sure the struts are done after 3 years on a graveled road leading to work with negative speed bumps lol

yeah wish i could show you in person. its def comfy. comfy is a very important part of the setup lol.

From what people say, Fortune Auto seems to have the best quality coilovers. I know CR3 supplies ksports, tein, bc and yellow speeds. He runs yellow speeds as well.

this is true about the fortune autos. i bought their first generation line of coilovers used so my input is most likely irrelevant now. i'm sure they've improved many times since then lol

Lol, I'd give input about ksports but mine aren't really for the street. I love them still though. Way better than the first gen ksport setups.

Where did you source the swift springs and what rates did you go with? I noticed once I lower the car some more the BC coilovers rode a lot smoother. I'm not really complaining I love the BC coilovers, I just read somewhere the swift springs were lighter.

just asked to upgrade to swift springs when i ordered and they said ok. 6k front 4k rear

Too late for that. I bought mine used but with very little mileage on them. They looked new to be honest. I'll dig around some more. Thanks.

Where did you ger them.from.to get the upgrade. Did you need a part number for the springs?

I started it and let it run for about 15 minutes yesterday with the charge piping disconnected... It runs so good and sounds so nice... If only I had a turbo to put on it so that I could drive it...

Ehhh... Picking up at GT2554 locally for cheap from a fellow MSPer. Would like to go ahead and move up to the GT28, but paying $100 now and having the back on the road after a couple of hours is tempting.
