I think bank 1 is referring to the 1st o2 and bank2 is the 2nd o2 so it wouldnt matter if its the injector cause the 02 collects post engine afr. if you had a particular misfire in a cyl then yea swapping would help (cause it usually says which cyl is the misfire)

Anyhow, so how is the spark plug/wire/coilpack system tie into the Air/Fuel system in these cars? I ask because I just went out and inspected my spark plugs (all look fine BTW), the wires and the coils and then simply put everything back together making sure everything was nice and snug. I go back, start the car and poof, no CEL anymore? I disconnected my MAF this morning and that didn't reset the CEL. Is it safe to assume something in there was the source of my problem? I went and drove around a couple of miles and no CEL yet but I know it takes like two cycles for P0171 to come on so we'll have to wait and see.

dont need 3" for my low hp goals. I like my throttle response.
that and its poorly designed and broke at least once every 2 weeks.
I've done about 15-20 miles of driving with some hard and WOT pulls in there somewhere. CEL is still gone and the car 'seems' to be idling better. Probably just my perception; knowing my luck the CEL will be back on tonight when I start the car up. Someone remind me why I'm building a Protege???

So how can you tell if an injector is clogged? Can you swap around injectors because I'm considering switching the cylinder 1 injector with another to see if the problem persists. I would think that by moving the injector and it's bad it would cause a different CEL (Bank 2 System to lean). Does this make sense?
If u know a shop or if u yourself has access to a scan tool and an exhaust gas analyzer thats the best way. With the scan tool disable each injector. The CO2 reading should increase (when disabled) evenly across all cylinders if the injector is working properly. Does this make sense?
As far as changing locations of injectors it wont matter. We only have 1 exhaust manifold so all the gases (burned or unburned) pass both 02 sensors. And if u want to get technical we only have 1 bank. Motors with 2 manifolds have 2 banks (ex.V-6 or V-8). So we only have an upstream and downstream on 1 bank. Once again..make sense?...hope it helps...if ur catless clean the 02 with electronics cleaner just to make sure.

Well the car is still operating sans CEL so that is good. I was being sarcastic about the building a Mazda comment - wouldn't trade this car for the world! Honda makes good cars, I'll admit but a little too boring for me.
I know ive owned Hondas all my life...i have beat them to hell and back and they always kept going...just a funny quote...i wouldnt trade my MSP or my Hondas for the world either
