What have you done to your MSP today?

So now that I finally have acquired a new EMS and ecu extension harness, I think it is time to get rid of this bad stock tune. For those who don't know, I purchased an AEM EMS-4 standalone to be run along side the stock ECU. I am keeping the stock ECU not only for inspection purposes, but also because I am not looking to buy 15 extra sensors to make it fully functional. So what I'm asking is, since it will be run as a piggyback (at least for the time being) I should just simply tap into each wire that I will be altering the signal, correct? Stupid question I know, but I'm asking because the EMS terminals have 4 spots for the injectors (since it is meant only for use on 4 cylinders) and in order to intercept the signal going from the ECU to the injectors I would really need 8 terminals on the EMS. I do have 8 standard I/O spots for things such as a wideband, so maybe I should use those in conjunction with the injector spots?

I'm probably not making any sense, so if anybody knowledgeable with any brand of tuner could send me a PM I would really appreciate it. I just want to make sure I go about this the right way before hacking up my $250 harness.

You'll need to tap into the sensor feeds, and you'll likely need to completely reroute the ECU outputs (timing and fuel commands)

Honestly its going to be a LOT more complex to work off of both, so you'll have to find someone very familiar with either the MSP ecu or the AEM, and put them on a STEEP learning curve for the one they don't know.

Yea I'm just wondering if tapping into the signal will work well enough. Though it seems to work for the SSAFC, if I remember correctly they were tapped connections for the most part. The difference between the two units is that AEM goes straight to the injector signal instead of fooling with the MAF. I would have kept my FIC but it really wasn't precise because it needed resistors to get the signal within a ballpark figure. Really no better than the SSAFC design.

I suppose if worse comes to worse I can just run straight off the EMS until inspection time comes, then swap my harness out. Perfect timing because I'm due at the end of August lol.

Cut my AWR sway bar for clearance of the lateral links. I was tired of hearing it hit togther on the shity roads of Toledo. Plus I keep it tight and don't use the ends of the bar. Just a little six inch cut of each end :) Rides a lot better over bumps and still pulls a back wheel off the ground when cornering. Good Times! Can't wait until I go from 205 Falkens to 245 for track and do some other "little" suspension adjustments.

Ok so question. Got the bov pipe and bov mounted and started the car. Car sounds like its running perfect. I revved it up a bit and got some low tone "turkey". I have the bov on full soft, is this normal? Do I need to pull one of the springs out of the bov?

full soft will usually turkey... try dialing it up a bit. or... buy a real BOV instead of a cheap piece of s***. Pretty sure thats what destineal was getting at.

Its in the ebay fmic thread

Pretty sure its the bov spring. I was just revving it while standing in front of the car so it wasnt under load or anything

Lol will eventually douche lol ok so make the setting harder?

I went to a local tuner shop earlier tonight and when the guys took a peek under my hood they inquired about the bpv and bov setup. I told them about the compressor surge and they told me it is definitely the spring. They also said that because my SSQV V3 is not self-adjustable, some people have opened them up and used some washers to make the spring stiffer. Not an optimal choice I know, but it sounds a lot better than the stupid dual bpv/bov setup that I'm using. I was told that I should be hearing from them sometime mid next week once they do some research on the application. Luckily the shop is AEM certified so big plus there.

I'm leaning more and more towards going all out and hooking it up full standalone, so long as I can find a way to cheat the state inspections. I'll be pretty psyched if it works out because they were suggesting eliminating the MAF sensor completely which IMO would be FANTASTIC.

Lol I'm at no loss,i don't like the ssqv. Why are your panties all twisted? All bov s have to be adjusted
