What have you done to your MSP today?

That's terrible! What if you're just driving to an event there - like Petit at Road Atlanta?

Well, the article says that the warning system is activated then starts recording the driving habits of the car while it is at the track. Nissan would dishonor the warranty for anyparts that were damaged as a result of "track-style" driving. If the records indicate it was parked or just roaming the parking lot at low speeds, I don't see how the warranty could be voided.

That makes sense. I didn't read through the whole article. I guess you'd just have to do parade laps reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally slowly... :p

other than using up the clutch over time i dont see how you could really break anything on the car. everything has so much work into it.

I'd be more worried about my insurance company finding out...or trying to explain that it was a herd of tire wall colored deer that hit my car and squashed it...

so what I did to my MSP today was not good.
Im copying this from another thread because I need help:

Ok, so I have barely owned my new MSP for a month and I love it, so whenever I have a bad day, I drive and it makes me happy. So Im on my way home from work and take a right turn at an intersection doing 35+ and being that I have not owned this car long and dont know how to drive it...
I WRECKED! into a curb. So once I got it jacked up and took a look at It. the damage is as follows...
Bent control arm, bent swaybar link, inside left CV joint looks to be broken, strut looks to be OK, Tie rod is probably bent, i dont remember, and the steering rack is prolly skrewed! hopefully my tranny is ok due to the heavy impact.
all of this I can replace at my work, but.... I NEED A WHEEL! ASAP!!!!
does anyone have a 17" RACING HEART that they will sell me??? Im not sure how badly bent up my current one is, but its scratched to hell and needs to be replaced. I am going to grind the edge of it down and weld it back to as close as i can get untill i can get a new wheel.

so, if anyone knows anyone that has one for sale, or even where i can buy a new one, it would help alot!
thanks!

if they are in production still you can prolly get one from ken at protege garage. captainKRM on here.

check the FS section for sale ads and put a want to buy ad in teh want to buy section. i hope it all gets resolved for you.

do you not have a spare? throw one of the back wheels up front tho and the spare on back bc of the lsd.

I could sell you 1 or 2 but its spray painted black. Looks good but you can't take the paint off, just needs a touch up on the inner parts of spokes and you can re use your own center caps and lug nuts, what I did. The original color mostly has been stripped. Laquer thinner is sick.

finally replaced y throttle body gasket. the gasket was so torn up I also found my coolant leak woohoo. now I dont need the themostat I just bought. I also have a rim for sale. its from an 03.5 the gunmetal rims

found a rim, its on its way, thanks, hopefully i can find all the other parts i need though our parts distributor.
is the lower control arm the same as is on a regular protege? what about the CV axle? and the steering rack and or tie rod?

Picked up my car from the body shop yesterday. I can't even tell someone hit me, which I guess is the whole point. Once it's actually nice out I might take a closer look, but I don't think it's necessary. The good thing is they cleaned the car inside and out for me, which was a great surprise.

On a msp we have thicker axels. The rack, tie rod and control arm i believe are the same but ask ken at protege garage or jason at montgomery mazda, they both sell dealer parts .

i got all my parts ordered today, and as long as i dont find anymore surprises, ill be ok.
Rim-$140
Control arm, sway bar link, wheel bearing-$250
Strut from mazda-$280
Labor-$TEH FREE!

Total is around $650 which kinda pisses me off cause that could have been a set of tires.

today i washed her good, vacumed, sprayed some gloss coats on the engine cover, it looks awesome, i made a better under radio gauge cluster, put on my CF mirror covers, put on a Sparco steering wheel, fixed my fuel flaoter ...........i'm beat

Replaced the turbo feed water elbow, polished some things up and found what appears to be a crack in one of my wheels. Exciting stuff.

Damn....what a day! I'd like to see pics of the steering wheel and CF mirror covers. It doesn't seem like you would be able to tell a big difference between the black and CF. Although, like they say....the devil is in the details.
