What have you done to your MSP today?

GXP's come in 6spd only...

BUT

Good luck finding one... and paying under 30k for it.
G8's are pretty disappointing. GTO is a much more solid platform.

GXP's came in standard and automatic.
And I wouldn't say they're dissapointing as they have plenty of potential but I don't feel like getting into an argument.

GTO's are sweet cars though Wagon! LS motors respond very well to basic bolt ons, so have fun with it, and congrats!
BTW, how many miles are on it?

Stock s2k's run 13.9's with a good driver.
And they don't explode rods, shatter diffs, blow headgaskets, crack gears... under a miniscule 8psi.

We built an 07 ap2 and made 380whp on 10psi with stock bottom end. That setups been running without a hitch for a year now.

ya, modded they gain a lot more from those mods and stuff, I was just saying if you had to start all over again, unless you don't mind modding it all and everything then go for it, but like for me, I have to much invested into my car now for me to start all over again with another car, but ya it is a better platform to start on, but wait, the S2000s don't come turbo right? or do they, I don't really know much about them though, just from what I have heard about them

I personally wouldn't get the S2000, there slower than a well running msp, well with the mods, and once you have the msp running well its a tonnn of fun, I'd just hold out for a little while, the msp handles like crazy too, it's great

and ya wagon, congrats, I personally am not a new GTO fan, old one was great, but new one just looks like an old lady car, kinda, at least with the long body, but ya congrats, at least no more msp problems haha, and a ton of hp

+1 on the s2000 stick wit a real car which is mazda and gto HELL NO cheap ass american car ant worth a fuk i think....

When's the tune appointment?

It was last friday, changed it to this friday but will have to reschedule again cause rusty bolts, school and work are getting in the way. i went to sears and got a real impact gun last night and that helped a ton. Still having trouble with the PS pulley. I got a tool rental fro O'reilley's but the bolt was bent so it want move over the pulley. I might try to find a shop to take it off and press the new one on.

HOLY RUN-ON SENTENCE, BATMAN!!

ewwww. not in a good way. always thought they were one of the ugliest "fast" cars. prolly drives nice tho i imagine.

LOL
you do realize it's an Australian car with a vette motor
heh... and by my impression, the aussies build their cars like germans do. and vette engine FTMFW.

srsly.

Yeah, there are a couple things about the styling that bother me. but... its got a vette engine, so... don't really care!

But... back to the MSPs...

So last week and replaced my old wastegate with a new forged one, and the cars runs much much better. I think the old one was not leaking yet but it was a matter of time before it was going to. The spring was way weak so it could have lead to the wastegate not shutting or opening too soon. Anyway, after replacing it I noticed that I had to recalibrate the MBC. It was holding at 8 and spicked at 10, but after I set it to that again it spikes at 12 and holds at 8psi (most times), does this mean my MBC is not up to par and I need to get a better one? I plan to get the ATP boost nipple to have the MBC and wastegate run just off the turbo and not the intake manifold. Oh also if I roll into the boost it holds like a champ, but if I stomp on it I get 10psi sometimes and other times I get 6psi......One last thing is the boost also creeps up from 8psi to 10psi at redline (from what I can see it starts to climb after 6000 rpms, this didn't happen with the old wastegate)..........any ideas on what could help me get rid of this issue?

Oh parts list.
Upgraded hard pipes, relocated MAF, upgraded SMIC, Upgraded J and mid pipe with no cats, Injen CAI, new forged BPV, new forged wastegate
new plugs, wires and coils, car was seafoamed a month ago, and new PCV.

Thanks

I traded it... its official.

NICE, I am by no means a fan of anything GM but I like that car, it's VERY clean. I know they are fun with a 6 speed and it looks like you got the 6.0, I see no mistakes made here. I'd throw on a CAI, long tubes and full exhaust, (TB/intake mani) a shifter and a custom tune and run mid-low 12s all day.

Came with spintech exhaust (sounds great IMO, exactly what I wanted), a volant (I think?) intake, and I'm almost SURE the shifter was replaced. Tune I don't know, but intend to tune it anyway... gotta rough up the idle a bit by pulling back the timing. But I'm ordering drag bags for it as we speak.

Sounds perfect, will be a fun car at the strip. (and you don't have to worry about breaking it like a certain import sedan)

Werent s2000's like 50k? Seems about as fair as comparing an evo to an msp...

Should call forged and se what spring yours came with. They can come with a 10 or 14psi spring. I had too get tuned too 10psi on a ssafc to have no spike.

I might have missed something in here, and sorry if I did (the A.D.D. is kicking in haha) but since it's a forge wga, it's adjustable right? at least that is the impression I got from them, if so,just take the MBC off and adjust it to 8psi or something and it should hold fine

oh ya and for today, I got an email back from G2 about the 2nd set of paint I ordered a little while back, asking them where it was, and it turns out the color I ordered was another damn tri-color,(Leman's solar orange, instead of the brown/rusty orange leman's sunset orange) so the lab is seeing if they can mix it up, if not then I guess I'll have to find another color that looks like the msp.. (being a tri-color was the original reason I couldn't match the spicy msp's color, code 25T)

ya for the most part, I posted it a few posts ago, maybe last page, but it turns out that after checking it completely again, it was a plug that I didn't plug back in, which I am pretty sure is the idle control management system thing or something like that, the gray one on top of the TB that I had unplugged to get at the T bolt clamp for the pipe, but ya it's running now, just need to fix the small fuel leak which I hope is maybe just a small O-ring problems, but I will find that out tomorrow, didn't get enough time today
