What have you done to your MSP today?

Its irrelevant, as Mazda sold the last two in Mazda's inventory (including Mazda USA & Canada) over a year ago. I know cuz I bought one of them. They say they ran out sooner than they expected because so many owners of stock Proteges and P5's bought them to modify their cars. There are still some rear lips available because the P5's couldn't use them. Your best bet will be to find an excellent shop that will repair yours or try to find a used one in good condition in a local parts yard.

Having said all that, the front lip / air dam part # is 0000-86-C02-00. The last "00" would be the two digit paint code if the part came pre-painted; "00" would be primer only.

/\ Don't know about the validity of that as I just had the front end (bumper, bumper cover, 'windsplitter', fog, and center covers) repaired last month. Granted the stealership and Mazda Canada kept telling the bodyshop that they were all after market parts but in the end perseverance paid off; it took a month to get the parts. Just saying!

Bumper and bumper cover are still available. I believe the "splitter" used on the MP3 and 03 MSP may well still be available too. I am speaking only of the difficulty in accessing the 03.5 "lip".

I thought u.s. law stated that car companies had to provide replacement parts for vehicles for 10 years after the release date so technically mazda should still be producing the lips for the msp

^you could be right, ill look into it. the only reason i know is that it was cited in regard t the closing of saturn and pontiac. it said that as far as warranty goes the parent companies by law are required to carry replacement parts for 10 years for all models from their release date. As far as i can tell it applied to all cars and car makers and was not a special provision because these two went out of business.

installed new samco hot pipe,

Can't post in the how to section apparently or else I would have already.

Not saying that it was easy but that is still available. I have a 3.5 Titanium and split the lowerlip; Mazda customer service investigators corrected me 'that it is a wind splitter and that is why I was told the 'lower lip' was an aftermarket part [because] Mazda doesn't refer to it that way.'

(direct) stupid dealership!

Long story short, with the correct part number, provided earlier, you should have no problems.

I asked Mazda USA about that too. They say they still maintain a parts inventory for all "Mazda Manufactured" parts. The lips and wings were engineered and manufactured through an agreement with a 3rd party subcontractor and therefore not Mazda Manufactured parts... The rumor is that the "3rd party" was Wings West, and that they and Mazda had a falling out; therefore no more will be made.

What a half-assed car ad too. "Picture yourself driving this down the freeway"? WTF?

How about 1 of 2,750 built?
Turbo tuned by Calloway?
Interior inspired by Sparco?

Srsly... Someone give this car a good home. I'd hate to see it picked up by some punk who's daddy is buying it for them, only to see it wrapped around a tree so he can get a new car.

The thing that sold me on my MSP is that I felt like the previous owner was interviewing me to make sure the car was going to a good home...

hahah for a second that reminded me of, me except a fence and the fact that I plan on keeping this car till I die hahah

^^yea it was really clean. I have a feeling its not the last we'll see of it. But his enjoying his ms3. When he said "i think im going to hold on to this one for awhile" I think he meant it. Sounds convincing. Cant wait to see what he'll do to the ms3.

I'd hope he'd hold onto it, being he bought it off the lot, its a good investment for him since he keeps his s*** top notch.

Has he made a thread or said what his plans are for the MS3 yet? Only post I saw about it was that he had "things in mind" or something, lol
