What have you done to your MSP today?

I asked Mazda USA about that too. They say they still maintain a parts inventory for all "Mazda Manufactured" parts. The lips and wings were engineered and manufactured through an agreement with a 3rd party subcontractor and therefore not Mazda Manufactured parts... The rumor is that the "3rd party" was Wings West, and that they and Mazda had a falling out; therefore no more will be made.

weird because when I crashed my car the body shop got the lip straight from mazda with no problems

he is not saying mazda does not have them its the fact that what they have is all that exists.

Its irrelevant, as Mazda sold the last two in Mazda's inventory (including Mazda USA & Canada) over a year ago. I know cuz I bought one of them. They say they ran out sooner than they expected because so many owners of stock Proteges and P5's bought them to modify their cars. There are still some rear lips available because the P5's couldn't use them. Your best bet will be to find an excellent shop that will repair yours or try to find a used one in good condition in a local parts yard.

Having said all that, the front lip / air dam part # is 0000-86-C02-00. The last "00" would be the two digit paint code if the part came pre-painted; "00" would be primer only.

He's not? (lol2)

Come on Mr. Law, thought you guys got paid the big bucks because you do the homework others don't want to do... :)

installed apexi imoni that I won like 4 years ago from the apexi garage sale raffle, tightened my Alertnator belt (previous owner, too loose made squeeking noise) contemplated offsets, camber corrections and tire size.

What kinda setup you contemplating? ;)

What a half-assed car ad too. "Picture yourself driving this down the freeway"? WTF?

How about 1 of 2,750 built?
Turbo tuned by Calloway?
Interior inspired by Sparco?

Srsly... Someone give this car a good home. I'd hate to see it picked up by some punk who's daddy is buying it for them, only to see it wrapped around a tree so he can get a new car.

The thing that sold me on my MSP is that I felt like the previous owner was interviewing me to make sure the car was going to a good home...

Funny you said that, because I remember reading a thread on here by a member that was selling their car and the stupid kid blew the motor in a matter of days and they wanted their money back. I don't remember what the outcome was, but regardless it was total bulls***.

I remember this also.

damn near lost the MSP today. b**** ran a light from my left... if I hadn't caught it out of the corner of my eye, i'da been T-boned... and there was a cop watching the intersection from about 40' behind me.

So he stopped her?

BTW... glad to hear you and the MSP escaped unscathed.

MSP wins in the snow once again. Drove home from Harrisburg tonight to be greeted with 6"+ of snow on the ground. While everyone is doing -35mph I'm trundling along at like 5-below the speed limit no problem. Its got JUST the right amount of power to keep you going/get you out of trouble, but not enough to make life impossible.

That said, knowing the basics about driving and a good set of snow tires usually take care of most of it...

banging my head on desk cause i bought this duplicolor rattle can primer to fix some spots where i sanded through base coat to get rid of runs in the clear on my lip.
so been fighting isolated wrinkling. wet sanded it once and it did it again when i used the wrong color to test it... so i think ive gotta sand it all down to below the clear again and either build up with extra base coats or apply more of the stupid thick primer and try to even it out. sucks.. cause i finally got the right color
but now ive probably gotta stripping to do =(

in all likelihood ill have to buy another can of base coat as im running out of the wrong colors to test adhesion and build up the base coat.. heh..

It sucks balls cause it doesnt do it everywhere i applied the primer.. ah well.. ill sand it all and give it a good clean and hope for the best.

Man I use thios high buiold ureathane primmer. It is the s***. The only Issue I have ran into with it was over mazda's key hole cover on the fear deck but that was easily solved after removeing the crap primmer mazda uses. Let m,e know if you neet the product name or anything. And the price is noit too bad. I got the hook up but I paid about 120 for the whole gallon. (did over 2 cars with it and still have some left.)
