They are fun..but not for long. The trips to the gas station get REAL old REAL fast. And it's never cheap. I'd rather get an EcoBoost Flex when we have kids.

^^ True, oh so true. I had a thirsty V8 before the MS3 and really thought nothing of mpg's until I started modding it and got like 12-14mpg in the city/burbs where I do a lot of driving. I can't imagine shelling out all that money for the SRT-Jeeps fuel.

Just pulled IC off again to get to the back of the motor so I can check all my exhaust bolts because I think my leak is on that side now..... going to install ITV22's at the same time.

lol i dont know if its cuz of autox or sheer bad luck but yur s*** is always leaking or loose or s**** hitting you. your engine is in pieces more than its running it seems like!...do you walk under a ladder and break a mirror before school everyday???

when modification is involved bad stuff happens

Got the PG TIP installed last night. Now I should probably note that I did not remove the battery tray. Stupid move. What a mufucka that thing was to get in. I look like I got into a fight with tiger. Definitely put some blood, sweat and tears into that thing last night.
As for first impressions? Intake is definitely louder, and turbo seems to spool faster. Don't notice much more pull, but I'm taking it easy for the most part until the ecu gets used to it. Also can't believe the design of the stocker. LOL. WTF?

The stocker TIP is extremely restrictive.

The TIP is just a flow part, not a HP part. More flow, more consistent boost, and faster spool.

An intake is also a flow part... and it makes HP.

An exhaust is also a flow part... and it makes HP.

Getting a valve job increases flow... and it makes HP.

Great, you've proven your educational superiority or logical superiority.

Now... TIP does nothing for HP. It reduces restriction on the intake side, but does NOT gain HP whatsoever. Ask COBB, Corksport, and PG. They will all tell you the same exact thing. Infact, i'll save you the trouble:

You need to relax :)

The sun is shining and I've got breath in my lungs. I'm happy!

Just, no point in being technical over a TIP - it does increase flow, but doesn't result in any HP. HP is all generated on this car based on load and boost targets. Reducing overall load/restriction helps the turbo generate power sooner, but not any increased horsepower. Tis all I was saying.

A very valid mod, but not a HP-increaser, therefore not something to expect out of the mod. It does sound and feel amazing though.

Speaking of the above, I opened my car up on summer tires on bare, warm pavement and I'm still not making my boost target for Stage 2 91 octane map. Ambient conditions 12 degrees C (54 degrees F). Sigh, back to the drawing board.

Clamps are all tight, I'm just wondering if the stock intake will not allow the boost targets to be reached on this map. I see a spike of 19psi (gauge and AP confirmed) but then it only holds 13-14psi...

It seems like, in stock intake/exhaust form, the car still likes to maintain it's limitations in 1st-2nd. When I got my intake/tip/exhaust installed, I'd hit 12psi in 1st, 14psi in 2nd and 17psi in 3rd on stock tune. With the AP, i'd hit 19psi in 6th lol.

Check clamps, and possibly change intakes. That should help open things up a tad more.

Otherwise, i'm sure you already know, this car is a tough cookie to crack. It will definitely leave you scratching your head sometimes at the abnormalties.

I went at it pretty hard after a stoplight and i spun the tires almost all the way through first. Running Pirelli P-zero nero (that's what it came with) tires with a cobb SRI and everything else stock. am i doing something wrong?
