Story: stopped working, decided to take it apart so I could properly test it according to repair manual. It involved hooking the motor up directly to 12v source to test motor operation
Did that, motor didn't work. Good thing about that is I didn't have to go any further, and the next steps involved taking lots of stuff apart to test switches and relays for continuity
Well, I wanted to do this yesterday when dealers were open in case I needed to get the motor (which is what I originally thought it might be). But it was raining yesterday so I didn't. Today I got it apart and called up a bunch of autozones and pepboys to see if they had the parts on-hand. Knew it was a longshot, and it was. No one had it
Well, after that I decided "**** it, let's take this motor apart."
BINGO, some contacts had arced so much that carbon buildup had ruined connection. I cleaned it up, put it back together, and it worked!
Don't know how long it will last this time, but now I'm set if I have to do it again
