What have you done to your MS3 today?

Bought a new PnP HID kit for the fogs. Last set I had were 3k yellows, decided to go after some 6k this time. I would still rather have the yellow look for the fogs, so I might try to snag some overlays, even though I'm not a fan of a "yellow" lens when the lights aren't on. So some day this week ill have to hop on it

Also, I'm debating on doing the independant fogs. Since I've got the gt, there's no easy way of doing it properly. I've read all the how-tos and I've realized it would be better to run all new wiring right to new plugs for the bulbs. I'm not willing to put a new switch in the car either. The best way for it to work would be installing a relay in with a wire from the parking lights. It would render the fog switch bezel inoperable, but I would much rather run the fogs with the parking lights and low power brake lights on. <sigh>

Wish it was more like my truck....at least dodge does it right

I have a GT as well and I found the modification to be pretty straightforward and easy. It took about 45 minutes from start to finish... the hardest (trickiest) part was having to fish the wires through the firewall. Other than that it was really easy. You still utilize the stock fog light stalk and can have them on/off anytime you want. Have you seen this walk-through? http://www.larawdesigns.com/Mazdaspeed3/IndependentFogsGT.pdf

Yea....that was one of the ones I saw. But I thought after that walk through was posted, in another forum, someone was still having the issue of them going on for no reason

I don't know, maybe I had too many windows open last night and thought I had read that

I'm not sure.. :-\ I haven't had any issues with mine though. I've had it done for almost 2 years now. I also had it done on my old Mazda3 GT sedan for over 2 years.

The shims on my front brakes were clicking when I started moving from 1st gear so I went into the dealer and they replaced the fronts for free at 22k :) Good to know I can now go to nearly 90k with these!

Now for story time:

Ordered my new racing wheels, for the second time, and saved a ton of money this time. I originally made the order with Wheels Next before reading their reviews and about $$% myself when I read them. I saw a press release saying they were being posted by disgruntled employees so I figured I'd let it play out as some were positive and some negative. Two weeks later I had yet to receive a shipment confirmation so I gave them a call and got bounced around to a few customer service reps, each time they thought I was a new caller so they weren't telling each other they were doing this (or they were messing with me), and they finally told me that my order or information was no where to be found in their system. I told them "This is great news! I don't want you having my information! Goodbye! (click)" I then proceeded to order the same wheels from a company I was referred to by a Mazdas247 member and they will be here next week. Finally!

Long story short.....Don't order anything from Wheels Next

I ordered 2 sets from them. One set for my Protege 5 a few years ago and my first set for my speed 3. They have really, really crappy customer service. The first set for my speed 3 came in WAY off balance, and they charged me extra for a kit that I didn't order and the kit didn't even come with the wheels. I had to report them to the BBB to get them to pay to have them balanced here and refund me for the charges for that kit I didn't receive. And it's an act of congress to get a tracking # from them. Just stay on them. And if they don't deliver as promised- go to the BBB and they seem to respond pretty quick to that. I won't ever order from them again.

Oh....I assumed since you said "first" when refering to your brake job that you were also the original owner

Muh bad

Yeah I am the original owner- it only had 47 miles on it when I bought it. Sorry for the confusion- I meant my first set of wheels and tires- cause I went through the stock wheels and tires, and then went through an aftermarket set of wheels and that set of tires- which I just changed out to the Motegi's a couple of weeks ago. I have only had to change the brakes once- I think around 50-55k.
:)

I'm not even dealing with them anymore. I didn't feel like going through the trouble. This other company had them for sale way cheaper than Wheels Next did and I don't know how I didn't find them before.

Today I got this beauty from SU.

^ that's a nice looking piece! i'm still rocking my cp-e, been very happy with it. did you not like the SU mount?

I liked the SU piece. Its been great. I'm slowly converting everything over to SURE stuff. I like the idea of running a lot of the same brand product. Plus its all really well made!

independent foglights on my gt....crappy cellphone pic alert!

6k xenons. thinking about overlays, but im gonna try to find a place that sells some pieces i can cut out on my own. i could probably find some yellow gels at a local camera place, then just get some window tint adhesive stuff or something that dries clear

and special thanks to lara for her quick replies when i asked for help

That loos beautiful. Can you give details on how you did this? One of my hid fog lights burned out, so i am getting a new kit in a few weeks, and I want to try to do this while I have the car apart. details would be phenomenal.
