What have you done to your MS3 today?

Got pulled over yesterday!! 73 in 65.... Warning for speeding but got a ticket for window tint and no front license plate...I guess it could have been worse and I couldv'e gotten the ticket for the speed as well but I'll be damned if I'm gonna pull my brand new tint off! Is shoving the front plate in between the dash and windshield enough or do I need to have it outside the car ?

+8 over the limit? They must really need money where you live. If you don't drive at least +10 over here in Phx, you will get rear ended, and they dont bother to pull peeps over unless you are +15 or more

At least in NH the law specifies "...in the factory supplied position..." I haven't gotten any flak for a tow plate, but sticking it in the front window is a problem. A buddy of mine is a local cop, from whom I've learned all of this. Ask a cop, they're usually fine with questions like that.

I think the real reason they pulled me over was for the tint (only 35%), they just needed an excuse to do it. I need to move back to chicago!

70% on the front 2 and any in the back, but 35% is legal with an exemption form which I will be getting filled out ASAP.

I agree with the idea of getting pulled over for tint but needing something with more proof (speed) to do the actual pulling over. Cops can't pull you over without proof of something, speculation is never good enough (think of arizona's rediculous attempt at illegal immigration)

And I would suspect that a plate in the window wouldn't be legal anywhere. Some times of day would cause too much glare to see it anyway

That's one reason I haven't tinted my windows. Many times I have cops drive beside me for quite some distance but they always end up driving off. No tinted windows, no loud exhaust and plate up front = no tickets.

I have 20 % tint and no front plate....... no tickets :P

Pulled over once, but was let off with a warning, and thats it.

Installed the speed action testpipe that I bought from bigdaddy. A lot quieter than what I was expecting but not a bad thing. Only drove with the wife in the car so I couldn't really get on it... Will find out tomorrow how it drives now.

went to a tinting/detailing shop got quoted for $179 for all around + sunstrip...

thinking 35% with a 15% strip.... hmmm

<sigh>

not quite 2 years old yet. she's also a very filthy ***** right now, except for the brand new plate i put on the front

weather permitting i will wash her tomorrow. i would have done it today, but i got pooped when i washed the camper and truck

truck and camper took precedence over the car because we just got back from a week long camping trip at a beach so i wanted to get all the salt and seagull s*** off. whipped out my good'ol power washer and went to work on both. then vacuumed, then rainX'd. unfortunately this is the first chrome pieced vehicle i've ever owned so hence i haven't polished the accents nor cleaned the wheels on the truck

i also posted the truck in the my other car's not a mazda section with a rant, if anyone would like to take a looky-loo

PAINFULLY replaced my 8-gauge amp wire with 4-gauge and hid it under the carpet. That was a lot of work, especially having to get it routed to the battery under the hood. Now I remember why I had put it off for so long...

Took the glove box lid off because it was causing a very annoying rattle. I might just leave it off indefinitely. (pissed)

Installed a TRZ Trans mount yesterday. Holy crap, I freaking love it. Coupled with the rear mount it feels so damn secure and connected. I honestly feel like the car puts down more power to the road. No wheel hop or movement. Shifting is easy as pie in any situation. Downshifting is easier. You don't notice much noise at all when the windows are down and the music is up... but roll 'em up and you just hear the trans whirring and the throw out bearing doing it's thing, then the gear snick as you change up/down. I love it! You really realize how much that mount supports when you are installing. Install took about 20 minutes with two people, really not a big deal. One of my favorite mods I've done to the car yet.

does it add any vibs.. or is it just noise?

Yep. It adds a slight bit of vibes, only really noticeable when engine braking (but you feel exhaust drone there anyways). And there's a bit of added vibes down in the pedals, but not up in the dash really.

hmm interesting.... I've yet to put in a RMM, so I think I will do that and see how I feel before goin to the TRZ trans mount.
