What have you done to your Miata today?

Heh. You definitely didn't hear my car at Mid-Ohio.

Bell Engineering downpipe to a 3" stainless all the way back to the fart can. There's a flex pipe in there that's now leaking... on the top of it. Projects them fumes right to me.

It's loud an obnoxious. I loose hearing on any trip over 2 hours. Takes about 40 minutes to be able to hear properly again after I'm out of the car.

It's fun because it sounds pretty decent IMO, but it's annoying as hell too.

Not sure if that would click before it shut off or not... at least not audibly. Plus when the pump shuts off, it will stumble a bit before it finally dies. (Had that problem with a VW once)

Exactly, if it was a fuel problem (pump relay, etc), the residual fuel pressure would let it run for a short while. An ignition-side electrical problem will kill it immediately. Main relay is immensely easier to swap out than the ignition switch, so honestly that's where I'd start.

That's what I originally was going to do when I bought the seats, but I couldn't get the stalks for the receivers of the original OEM seatbelts through the side holes on the Sprint 5's. I've thought of fabricating a bracket so that it would work but I just haven't gotten around to it. After driving the car to work today with the OEM seats, I realize how much better I like the Sprint 5's :)

There's no real reason, IMO, to run the buckle through the hip bolster, IMO. That's just going to smash your hip against it in corners... no and thank you.

If it doesn't go through the side bolster wouldn't it not come in contact with my waist as intended?

Edit: Add picture...

Here is someone that doesn't use the through the bolster method... Maybe I will try that.

Could be fuel pump relay.

this kind of makes sense, it's close enough for me to hear (i'm half deaf and had the top down) and it would explain why i didn't loose power. I had to take it out a few weeks ago when I did the fuel filter, i'll check it

on the other hand, it's only happened twice...

Do you remember if you may have hit a bump on the highway when this happened? I only ask this because I know of a car here local that has a touchy ignition switch and if you hit a bump, the car will could die on you.

Have you had issues starting the car or having to fiddle with the key to get it to start?

no issues starting or with the key, no pot holes or anything at the time. the roads where I live aren't the best so if that was the case it would happen every day

Nice!

I just noticed Rob's quote in your signature. Priceless.

I need to figure out how to get the defroster on my hard top hooked up in my 1991. Of course they didn't come from the factory with a defroster until 1992. I drove around in the rain today with the window cracked in an attempt to get some visibility out of the back of the car.

The valve cover and catch can showed up today. I'm going to paint in the letters on the cover tonight. Have to find a source for some AN-8 fittings and hose, locally if I'm lucky. Then once I get some household chores done I'll install them and post up pictures.
