What have you done to your Miata today?

Took my Sparco Sprint 5's out and put the OEM seats back in. Buckling the 6-point harnesses gets old when you try and go out and run errands.

So... why not just run the stock 3 points on the seats you like? I used to do it with my Corbeaus. I'd just left the lap-belts in from my harnesses for autox work.

ok this s*** is really weird, tonight was the second time it happened, don't know if it's specific to MSMs or other miatas. The car just shuts off... first time I was getting on the on ramp (getting on it, Phen was behind me) and it shut off as I was shifting into second. Pulled over, turned switch off, and it turned back on right away, no more issues. I was driving for a couple of miles before that leaving a restaurant. Tonight, leaving a restaurant, drive for a few miles, get on it on the on ramp, and as I'm coasting in 6th i hear a click and the car shuts off, never lost power, lights remained on. put it in neutral, turn key off, put it in the on position, pop the clutch in 6th and it turns on, no more issues till I got home...

I've heard MSMs have a 'bog' but never something like this... any ideas??

Just shuts off with no warning? Or does it bog / hesitate / give any warning signs? May be a flaky ignition switch or main relay. Does it sputter then die, or does it just flat out stop?

no bog or hesitation, just heard two clicks (from a relay most likely) and it flat out stops. lights remain on, don't flicker, no CEL

You are experiencing the "it's time for an nc" trouble period that all msm's seem to have. My friend in Phoenix is looking at one atm, Chris got one, and I am {}close to getting phen into one. You're next, because, well...

so you snooped around. that's good. if I get some time I will look.

I know how you feel about getting back into a p5. I feel the same way when I drive my mx-3. Which is light & actually handles well by normal standard.

There aren't any pictures (so far) on this site. I will post some here once I get it all installed, it's on its way back to me now. Should have it in the car sometime next week.

I just got mine so I won't trade for a while. Phen, if you do trade yours then I'd like to swap a few pieces before you do, you'll get a better deal if it looks stock-ish ;)

PS: does the NC come with the model?

Not sure if that would click before it shut off or not... at least not audibly. Plus when the pump shuts off, it will stumble a bit before it finally dies. (Had that problem with a VW once)

That's what I originally was going to do when I bought the seats, but I couldn't get the stalks for the receivers of the original OEM seatbelts through the side holes on the Sprint 5's. I've thought of fabricating a bracket so that it would work but I just haven't gotten around to it. After driving the car to work today with the OEM seats, I realize how much better I like the Sprint 5's :)

I want to do something fun with my car... that way I can shut people up. I'm sick of the ******* hating I've been getting lately by locals.

Any local guy with FWD.

Oh no, the most perfect car in the world has a problem?!?!

yes. it does. suck it.

A Miata with problems is better than a lot of other problem free cars IMO.

Yeah. I dunno. Ignore my rants. I've been fired up lately because I still can't figure out my car, and the moment anyone says something about that fact, I want to snap.

Plus the fact that I haven't heard from the insurance company of the lady who hit me, I bottomed out at my friend's house last weekend and ripped a bolt for one of the braces under the car completely out of the hole, my exhaust is leaking, the car is filthy from Mid-Ohio still, and I'm rapidly approaching the time when I need another car to be on the street.

I feel for ya. It sucks when problems pile up and it's a shame that it takes away from the enjoyment from an otherwise awesome vehicle.

yeah... I really need to get another car back on the street. I don't know how much more CO poisoning I can take...

Top down + heat on high. #1 reason Miata's have the ability to recreate volcano-like heat.

The leak is right under the transmission. It comes up thru the shift boot. That's how I drove the whole way back from NC.
