What have you done to your Miata today?

I guess it's really going to depend on how much I actually get for the expat bonus and the hardship bonus. If I get what I think I may get, then I should be golden.
Since you have the 16s, just do that.

If you didn't... 15s man. I have some cheap-ass Rewinds ($94/wheel, skip the ugly centercaps) with Kumho ASX a/s to get through the cold and it rides better, grips better, and you drop the equivalent of 6lb rotating mass per corner. Get your tires in 205/50/15 and never look back.

OH and on topic: Finally tightened the torx screws that hold the top bracket to the windshield frame. No more rattle! (for the record it's a T30)

So... I'm currently trying to make a decision for my MSM.

Buy tires for the OEM 17's
Buy tires for my old 5Zigens 16's
Buy 15's and tires.

Since you are going to be flush, I propose the following:

Get you some tires for the 16s. Buy a nice set of 15s w/tires (I'm thinking bronze 6ULs, 15 X 7, with Star Specs) and let me test them for you. That way you will end up with two sets to do with whatever you want. Oh, and I won't charge you a thing for my services!

Thanks Dub.

If I go with the 15's, they will be 15x9 with the widest damn tire I can fit on it. I don't need the car trying to kill me with tires that are too narrow. Hahaha. She does that enough as is. She gets jealous if there's a girl in the car with me.

The 16's will probably just go back on the Civic. Two of the wheels are scuffed up pretty bad. Currently the car has 2 16's and 2 17's on it.

You want to put a tire on that's minimum spec is the width of your wheel. You'll get better steering response and save rotational mass.

Yeah, not always true. Tell that to the stock class racers stuffing 275 wide tires on 6" wheels lol

Oh this I know. Don't forget, slammed guys hate me because I think stretched tires are retarded, and I voiced my opinion of it. The unfortunate thing about the 15x9's is that 225/45-15 is the widest / most easily found street tire for them.

You say unfortunately, but the section width on a good 225 tire, something like the RS3 or a Toyo R1R, is almost exactly 9". So you're pretty much exactly where you want to be with that 9" wheel.

Just don't put junk tires on them LOL

Haha. I was looking at the RS3's and the Nitto NT-01's... since technically they are DOT approved. I'll probably go RS3 though.

killed the alternator in mine last night. Sitting at the ATM the battery light kicked on on. Got home and checked the output going to the battery...11.75V FTL

the marks go on for a while. but my pictures i took yesterday had to prove i didn't do that s*** in his driveway as he claimed, and I honestly did not want the entire thing anywhere in case this does go beyond he said he said s*** with my corporate office

no, i was honestly so angry my leg was shaking and slipped off the clutch and i just nailed the throttle once it started.

So THAT'S where you've been, out harrassing people! I've been wondering where you got off to.
