Somebody answer this WTF question for me.


I ordered a set of NGK plugs...they came today and for the love of all things I couldn't get them to screw in. Even thought they are specific for the 1.6. I mean...wtf?

Do I need to gap them or something? I mean, the old ones went back in fine...but the new ones are a no-go. Did i miss something?

The gap doesn't have anything to do with them threading in. Check the threads to make sure they're not gunked up, and see if the threads line up with the old plugs. Other than that, there's no reason they shouldn't go in.

You had the opposite problem I had. I couldnt get the old ones out! lol I did eventually, but thats definitely weird. I bought and installed: A new battery, plugs, wires, air filter, windshield wipers, as well as changed the oil. I also fixed my powered windows, not that ill need the windows down in this weather. Ran outta time on my free day since i waited too long to start, so next weekend, will involve a radiator flush and trans, diff, and turret oil change. Shes running strong though. Little squirrely in the rain.

That sucks Phil. Before I got the hard top, I always left my doors unlocked just for that reason. At least they didnt' bust up the center surround getting out the stereo.
