What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

Put my Xxr 522 19x8.5 +38. On didn't really give my as much poke as I wanted. But still looks sick. Ill get pics. Its dark out so in the morning ill hopefully get some up.

I don't know Phil, is that even drivable at that height? ... it would be even lower than yours, and I'm still trying to figure out how your tires aren't popping out of your hood! (scratch)

I just don't know how you guys do it. Even at stock height I scrape leaving certain driveways and ramps, I'd be too scared to drop anything more than about half an inch.

Now? Not low at all...

As a matter of fact, the front is sitting at the highest possible setting.

i think this is perfect height. looks really good, i hate when they are so low, especially with stock wheels since they aren't flush.

I have no rubbing & it's my daily driver. No issues unless it's a crappy road with stupid indentations from say a Semi or something. I hate when the middle of the lane is normal but the left & right where the weight of the wheels are sunk in. I hear my exhaust scraping every now & then...
My driveway is a challenge but the only thing that scrapes is the long black plastic strip which I presume is so you don't go to far when parking in a parking spot. It will continue to scrape until it's rubbed down enough where it won't scrape anymore. Or I'll just remove it. If I had a 2 car garage/driveway I'd have 0 trouble. I can't get the right approach angle to not scrape lol.

Installed Brembo rotors and EBC redstuff pads front and back. Changed my AC filter ($60 for it and no way around it...a nice kick in the teeth hurts less)

I'm in Canada, so Canadian dollars.

EBC Redstuff
DP31766C Rear pads $109.71
DP31773C Front pads $144.10
$265.00 Brembo front rotors (plain)
$198.77 Brembo rear rotors (plain)
2 hours of labor.

You can find them cheaper on the net, but shipping it to Canada killed all economics.

Are you talking about the cabin filter? If so, I think the CX-7 filter is under $20 at NAPA (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) and it fits.

Edit: thought you had a 6 or MS6...are you talking about on an MSP?

Yes, NAPA 4579 air filter was $13. I picked one up yesterday and put it in after I checked and did not have one in at all. Fail.

Checked NAPA, they don't have replacement cabin filters for MSP6. They sold me the Mazda 6 one. Tried it in the parking lot and it was not the right one....same thing happend to me at Canadian Tire....you probalby get these in the US (could be different), but not in Canada. And yes, paying $60 for a filter does qualify as "fail", although it beat breathing garbage through the vents.

I think Funkster's fail was for his car lacking a filter, not directed at you.

So, wait, I'm confused...what happened to the MSP under your avatar? And next time try the CX-7 filter; if anything, it would be cheaper than $60 to have one shipped from the US.

Spooler, I think I caved and bought a filter from the dealer last time I needed one too, I think it ran me about $50. I should look into ordering a few from the US to save on shipping, but I would want to make sure that whatever I order will 100% be the right fit.

That was a self inflicted fail towards spending $60 on a piece of carboard and a fiber cloth of some kind....

Good catch! I sold the MSP Protege, it was far from practical (and reliable) with a new born. Good to know, I'll try CX-7 next time. Regarding getting it from the US, once you add shipping, duties and all the other crap, you end up not saving much. Same thing for my brakes, shipping and duties kill economics (I've saved some cash on my MSP protege on electrical stuff and bushings in the past).

And the would charge you $35 to install it (which takes 5 minutes, even with a few cold ones in the system!). Onlinemazdaparts has good prices, shipping can screw you for large or heavy components. Not sure if it's worth it to ship a bunch of them since you replace this once every 2-3 years.
