MULTI-MODEL - CLUNK NOISE FROM SEAT WHEN BRAKING

Holy cow... THIS might be the mysterious noise I've been hearing since day one! I could never explain it properly but it occurs under braking and acceleration, anytime there's enough of a momentum change to shift weight distribution, really. I wouldn't call it a clunk, but more of a "tock"... it doesn't sound like anything's broken, just that it might be a little loose somewhere, and I figured it was under the car from how it sounded.

Thanks for posting this, I'll have to make an appointment for an oil change and a regular service (haven't had it to the stealershipfor over a year now), and get them to look into this and my malfunctioning door sensor too.

question for you guys whats a good tire pressure for our cars this time of year?? i ran over a glass bottle some dipshit left in the middle of a snow covered road yesterday and im gunna fill'em up and monitor it.. also.. if it is a flat and can not be repaired. will i have to buy 4 new tires?? or is there another alternative if only one is damaged??

38 psi is what's recommended on all 4 tires. I keep mine between 38-41 cold.

1) Recommended tire pressure depends on the make/model of the tire.

2) If the tires are all pretty new(a few thousand miles of normal driving or less), you can still replace one and get away with it. The tires need to have near-identical or identical wear on all of them. If you can't accomplish that you will need to buy four new tires.

yea the tires i bought ( Blizzak LM-22) says no more then 50lbs of pressure.. so im gunna stay with steve and puttin 38-40 in there and monitor them.. thanks guys.

Yep, it tells you on the label inside the drivers door sill what the pressure is. I've had to check it a few times because I forget. As I understand it, that is the number for the OEM tire make and size, that the car is tuned to run properly on. There will be some variance with replacement tires, but generally you stick to what that label says over what the tires say.

If your tires have significant wear, some shops can shave the new tire to the depth of your existing tires. Tire Rack will also do this if you if you order tires from them.

got a GIANT crack in my windshield right in front of the driver side.
*sigh* and i was only going 45+ as i entered the freeway. so pissed.

even tho insurance will cover it, i 100% guarantee once replaced, interior noise will get worse... out of experience... :( *sigh 2x*

I just went through this. The tire dealer told me that if the 3 remaining tires are within 2/32 of the new tire then it's fine. Therefore, you're 3 remaining tires better be damn near new.

yea i just bought the tires like 3-4 weeks ago so they are pretty new im just gunna fill'em up and monitor them for a few days.

I doubt your tire is jacked, it takes a lot to mess up those Blizzak's. Besides, if you buy a replacement tire, you won't be that far off, since they don't wear down quick either. The guy who bought my Protege is still running my LM-25s and they look like brand new after almost 4 years.

wow.. that sounds like there great tires then..im just being paranoid and i know it.. doesnt stop me from worrying tho lol

Wow, I just replaced my windshield too... I know how it feels

Got much HID Fogs 35W 6000K and replacement 6000k bulbs for my low beams :D

been talking to the dealership about replacing my turbo, hasn't smoked alot, not enough to catch on camera but i'm hoping to get it replaced since i have only 5000 miles until my warranty is up. One of the head guys i talked to today said that half the time they get approved just because somebody has come up there and kept saying it's happening. So he wants to see it in the morning, wish me luck, i guess lol.

But how about them HID's :D

Cobb intake installed---can't believe i waited this long...Like many of you have already said, probably single-best upgrade yet!

2003-2010 MAZDA6

This is the one I pointed out a few weeks ago that Steve said didn't apply to the MS6 because it just calls out for the regular 6. Hopefully for you guys that isn't the case, or at least they will include the MS6 even if it's not specifically mentioned.

I bought an auto dimming rear view mirror with compass and Homelink, it's on the way and hopefully I can put it in this weekend. I got it made a bit custom, with the compass LED the same color as our dash lights and the mirror glass without the blacked out area around the LED display. Yeah, you can just flip up the mirror, but it's a nice convenience and hopefully the Homelink will remove the need for a remote.
