What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

Anyone know how hard ktp (the ones of PG) fuel internals are to install? I don't even know where the fuel pump is. Will buy a downpipe one of these days to conclude my bolt ons. Should get fuel pump internals before I dyno tune it.

Towel is ready for the pics boosted!

Pump is in the gas tank. There is a access cover under the rear seat if I remember correctly....

He's talking about the CDFP. It's right under where the turbo inlet is, and it's a little tricky to see without taking some stuff out of the way. I wouldn't buy the PG ones, but rather the PTP internals, so far I have yet to see anything bad about them.

I think he is talking about the cam driven high pressure fuel pump. AFAIK those are the internals sold by PG and a couple of other places. From what I have read it isn't too hard if you have some mechanical aptitude, you just have to be sure and replace the internals in a very clean area.

There is an electric supply pump in the fuel tank, but you need a special tool to remove it.

EDIT: Steve, you beat me to it!

if anyone has any tips to get my freshly installed carLED tail lights to not blink so damn fast, please let me know.
thank you.

First off Dane, I hate you! LOL

Second, sounds like a load resistor needs to be wired in to slow down the sequence of the blinkers. Did you buy them used?

Really I read in one place (think it was on the mazda speed forums)that the PTP had some issue with the "coating." Im talking about of my ass because I don't know what that means. The person using the PTP reported issues low in the rpm range.

So the internals aren't hard to install ? Like how long are we talking ??

hahah you can hate me.. ill snap some pics for you. (moon)
i bought a bunch of resistors yesterday, just dont have much wire to work with and didnt feel like reinstalling them, but ill give it a shot.
should i start with 1 watt or 1/8th watt resistors? i honestly have no clue.

i bought them "used" but they were still new in box with wrapping on them. they guy never installed them (so im told).

I'd have to measure some resistances across the old incandescent bulbs to see, but I think 30-40 ohms should be enough to slow it down.

Well, the stuff I've read on the PTP ones are that they need to be broken in properly (<4000RPM for 100 miles or so) before they can be beat on. All of them have had their share of issues with coatings, hardness, etc. over the span of them being out. I think KMD/KMI makes the ones for the VW/Audi guys, and they've been doing it the longest.

Install is about 2 hours from what it looks like. Just take your time and follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

thanks for the replies guys... unfortunately im very much a noob at anything that involves a wire.

Tunersteve- i have no idea what that number means. 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, or 1 watt resistor to start with? just a guess is fine, because it will be better than mine. haha. thanks man appreciate it.

Jaymangrum- i have no idea. thanks though. i bought them off another member.

I'd start with the smallest (1/8) and work up. Just connect it in line with the wiring for the turn signals and see how it reacts. Sounds like you may be missing parts though, and I'd give Potential Motorsports a call for those.

I agree with steve, def need to put a meter on it, vehicles differ so much these days. When we do the swap overs on vehicles, a lot of times they come with ground side inline ceramic block load bank/resistors. If this is what you have, be careful with placement and water intrution to the area, they get pretty hot to the touch, can melt surroundings and are fairly sensitive to water. IF this is what you have.

Got tired of the touchless wash being closed, and other places being backed up or out of change, so washed her dirtiness in the driveway. Looks much better, and as we all know, a clean car is much faster!

I'm just waiting now to regain feeling in my feet...

Did the same yesterday. Its so nice here 40 or so, that I am actually driving the 8 today.

this morning's shot of last night's install item.

After having my cobb ap sitting in my car for 2 months I couldn't take it anymore. Even though im not a fan of running OTS maps I loaded a SF stage 1 93 that the previous ap owner had already had. Didn't go WOT yet. Ill drive a good 15 miles or so before I test it out. Im sure ill be loading the Stage 2 TMIC 93 octane soon though. I don't want to go too aggressive however.

Pretty much convinced myself today that my MS6 will no longer get any more upgrades. I'm going to keep it as is and drive it until I can put an order in later this year and sell it, so that I can get my new car. Trust me, it's nothing against the MS6, but it's time to upgrade to something a little bit quicker...

What are you going to upgrade to (planning on) ?

I would LOVE to drop a 1JZ in a lexus sc300. Kid has one around where I live. I can see the birds collapsing as they smell his catless fumes but its still sick. Could do that cheap and "easy." Not to mention it can handle around 750 crank hp. I would even be happy with a new evo X. I see them around every corner but I like them more than the 8/9's.

What mods do you have steve?? .
