Vacuumed 70+ gallons of water out of the (brand new) basement carpet. The storm drain in the outside basement stairs clogged and flooded my house under the back door. Not a good day.

bought a new place and spent a few weeks undoing what the previous owner had done that i wasn't a fan of. every room had a wallpaper border that was removed. there were mirrors with no frames but stenciled borders painted around them that i didn't like so i took down the mirrors and had to repaint the walls. there were some places that the lady went a little crazy with the sponge painting. in the basement one of the walls had a wallpaper mural of a garden scene on the entire thing for some reason. then a few other things like painting windows and such that needed to be done. then i bought furniture since i owned next to nothing. still a good amount of little things to do but a lot of the work is done and most of the furniture is here

first some before and during shots
every cabinet in the kitchen had one of these by the knob. they came off with a little scrubbing but there are 27 knobs in the kitchen

Looks nice ^^^^^^

Well after my submission of an offer in February on a short sale I've finally got word...it's not too exciting.

Worked out a price with owner on property for 168k... then the offer went to the bank for a few months and they will not take less than the asking price of 200k. The house was originally listed for 250k then reduced.

uuggghhhh....what a process. I'm going to go look at it again this week to try and find some things that were unseen in the middle of winter: roof, exterior, pool, etc...

i installed my new dishwasher yesterday. dishwasher installs should be easy since there are only 3 things to connect. however whoever installed the tile decided to just tile in the old dishwasher. so after trying to fix the old one and then giving up we had to pick up the counter to pull it out. then to get the new one in we had to pick up the counter again and break one of the tiles on the kickplate that the tiler decided to extend beyond the edge of the cabinet. then we finally got to the fun of actually hooking up, which really wasn't too bad but after all that other stuff it wasn't fun

My g/f's grandma's house has wood bee's digging holes in wood that the builder used as the base of the garage (encasing the garage door->untreated wood) So my job this summer after summer school is out is too rip the wood out and install treated wood after I kill those SOB's. There's about 20 that I counted thus far.

Put up blinds in the two occupied bedrooms. Yeah, down comes the craft paper!

Leaving the house im currently in due to Hurricane Ike, and moving a little closer inland. So my new house should be completed in October :) Looking forward to starting house projects with a fresh, new home! Im using Gehan Homes as the builder (local Texas Builder), so they better have there shiet straight :D.

Right off the bat, im looking at getting the 1st of my two domains fixed up which would be the garage.....Should be filling this thread up with pics towards the end of the year.

man cave.

couldn't find a before pic, but first pic is same garage.
