What have you done to your CX-5 today?

mounted plates today...

man do I have some issues with the way the rear plate is mounted on the tailgate. I also have issues with the way the front plate is mounted too; however, since the front plate only goes into plastic, it isn't as big of a deal, but still a deal none the less.

I will explain/show in a different thread.

What would you all recommend to clean the interior of the 17 GTs? I have 303 but not sure if I should use something more specific for leather?

Scheduled to get my car scratches fixed and that loose trim replaced. Goes into Service King on Wednesday and should be a 1 day job they said. I hope that means I can pickup after work since I drop it off at 7am.

That CRX was my very first car in HS. Even had some similar rins on it, and the same color. Wish I still had it. I gave it hell, basically tried to tear it up, and couldn't. Great and cool little cars. Not a fan of what basically took its place though, the Del Sol.

Would've been very envious if anyone at my HS had one of those. Pretty sure I would've wrapped it round a tree in short order.

Just got a ''17 CX-5 dark blue mica. Gave it a nice wash. Sealed it with Adams paint sealant. Let that cure for 2 hours. Topped it off with Collinite Insulater wax. Great combo. And the dark shows a lot of metallic.

Those dark blues are definitely sharp. Love em.

Really don't see how I didn't, honestly, looking back on it. Same goes for the ole Z car that followed. The good ole days...lol

I use the Meguiars leather conditioner and cleaner on mine. Just a gentle wipe over all the soft leather seats is required. Smells nice too.

Well I lucked out. Certain parts of Denver got hit with golf ball and bigger sized hail yesterday.

My Mom's Subaru Crosstrek is obliterated and her back windshield got busted out.

Luckily we only got rain where I was working.

Glad I scheduled my fix with Service King before the hail hit yesterday, as you know all the body shops are now having a field day!

I live in Denver but work in Boulder, so I was fortunate to miss the hail storm as well. Unfortunately, however, someone backed into my 6 month-old CX5 parked on the street yesterday, caving in the front bumper and scratching up a wheel...thankfully she left a note.

May have avoided the hail but still have to deal with the body shops :'(

This post is worthless without a pic..... (yippy)

There's two different things your asking here, 1) how to clean the interior and leather, and 2) how to protect it. 303 will serve you well on pretty much all the surfaces inside the car as well as the black trim on the outside. Since the leather is a coated, bonded leather conditioners for leather don't do much as it won't be absorbed into the material much, if any. As far as cleaning goes. Use a gentle cleaner, I like to use Meguiars APC dilute to about 10:1 or less. Then follow up with the 303 or other protectant of your choice. Optimum Leather protectant Plus is a great product and has light cleaners in it already. It's like combining 303 and APC into one product. Mother's VLR is also very good. In between deep cleanings I use Meguiars Quick interior detailer to keep things looking good.

Ouch. Glad you got a note at least. The guy that clipped me ran....fast!

Took five minutes to change my cabin and engine air filters. It's highway robbery what the dealer charges for this stuff ($38.95 for engine and $59.95 for cabin), both filters cost me about $30 total including shipping.

I had my roof rails and crossbars installed today...was owed those as well as cargo mat. I like the look but did notice some diiferent wind noise while driving home. Did not like the service dept at all. I asked them to check my spoiler supports since they are loose and rattle. They told me they were fine...oh really??? I guess they should shake when you touch them?? I won't even go back for my free oil change now.

Yeah just realized that when you replied. Oops!

Have a gallon of Meguiars APC and Glass Cleaner from when I bought our minivan a few years back. Have some 303 on hand but wasnt sure if it was alright to use since it's all leather, but after reading a bit it seems that we don't have real leather but leather with a coating as you stated.

Ill give what I have on hand a shot and see how pretty I can keep her. Now to get that stupid plastic dealer advertisement off my rear bumper with some dental floss and I'll be happy. Thanks!

Dropped my CX-5 off at Service King today.

Got a rental car and they gave me this little blue Hyundai Accent. Someone shoot me. Hard plastics, hard plastics everywhere. And an ECO mode button. (puke)

Will be extremely happy when the CX-5 is back.

Whoa, I didn't know Denver area is also susceptible for large hails! I can feel your Mom's pain especially the messy interior with broken rear window! Hopefully her insurance will pay for full body PDR repairs without replacing hood and roof. Yeah my PDR guy wanted me to wait for several months to work on our hail damaged CX-5.

Once the paint gets scratched there's not much the PDR can do. But this almost never happens nowadays that someone hit your car and left a note!
