What floor jack and stands are folks using for their CX-5?

I'm not sure if my Arcan jack will get the job done. Just talking about enough to comfortable get the wheels off for brake jobs, etc.

So. it's a twin piston 2 or 3-ton jack made in the same Chinese factory as every jack in the harbor freight, costco, home depot, walmart store. Considering the CX5 curb weight is under 2 tons, you could actually lift the entire car.

It'll be fine

You don't even know what Arcan I have,,,,it's the lo pro long reach

If you're looking for a more specific answer, it's best to provide as much relevant info in the original post. In this case, you could also include the lift range of the jack.

Low profile jacks usually have a lower maximum lift, which can be an issue if you're jacking from the front center or rear center jacking pad. But you can always jack from the pinch welds - your jack should be able to get the car high enough to get both wheels off the ground. Just check the max lift of your jack and don't overextend.

Let’s be more helpful and constructive here, please…Thanks.

It appears (although I would double check) that the model you have does have a 2 ton capacity and should be able to easily lift one corner or end of a CX-5 for a brake job provided proper procedures and jack stands are used of course.

Is this the model you have..?

I’m sure there are others here with a lot more input/experience on the subject and it would be great to hear from them as well…

I was typing up my response here before I saw your post @sm1ke, well said, thanks for chiming in!

Ordered these just today. Home Depot had great price.
Stands are like 14-21" range
Jack is like 5-18" lift

That looks similar to the one I'm using from Harbor Freight:

Along with these stands:

OP,

There is a whole thread on jack pad adapters.

I would suggest testing those jack stands and making sure they lock in securely.

I'm a big fan of stands with pins through the middle. Harbor freight had a series a few years ago of those ratchet types, that if it weren't for good timing, would have killed my son. The teeth barely sat in the grooves and they both failed at the same time
