What does this mean to you?

Straight from the mazda website ">> MAZDASPEED Performance Parts and Accessories: Soon you'll be able to purchase some of the same MAZDASPEED competition parts available to racers, plus a new upcoming line of performance-enhancing parts and accessories for street use. The MAZDASPEED parts and accessories line will also include a range of MAZDASPEED logo apparel. Check back soon for details on when the new MAZDASPEED Performance Parts and Accessories will be available at a MAZDASPEED dealer near you."

Now to me that means mazda will be releasing performance enhancing parts for our cars so they can kick even more ass than they already do, but according to the fu@kers at corporate who returned my call the only thing being released are "appearance" enhancing parts. Now I know a majority of us in posting land have stories about the dealership hinting at stuff to come but I havent seen s**** in regards to the release of these parts and now it seems like nothing is going to come out. She did say the mitata is getting stuff, who the @!#% cares, but for us all we get are pretty add ons to make us look faster than we are.

The way I see it: Any news is good news. I would love to be wearing some different MAZDASPEED Polo shirts this summer....And; I am certainly interested to see what they release performance oriented. :D :D :D :D :D

I love my MAZDASPSEED!!! (k) (k) (k)

honestly? it means nothing to me.

the car is here, im not waiting for anything else. if i need something, or want something, ill just go buy it from whoever makes it, be it greddy, blitz, etc etc

Mazda has ****** themselves since day one with the MAzdaspeed franchise. Between the delays, f'd up problems with the cars, and bs afermarket products, I'm sick of it. They expect all of us to put deposits on cars we don't see anything on (by that I mean, look at the advertising on the Speeds......where is it? I don't see it? One small web page does not make advertising for a "major new Franchise" called MAzdaspeed) before we buy them and wait for months on end without any indication of wtf is going on? Would it hurt them to at least post a nice gallery of the 2003 and 2003.5's?

Mazdaspeed to me means nothing. It's a sticker on a car. I love the cars, heck I want one but so far they ain't backing up s*** with their promises of finally bringing over this Godsend that is "Mazdaspeed"

And until they actually do something besides offering cosmetic crap, MAzdaspeed will continue to mean nothing more to me then just a sticker. Just another Marketing money grab.

I was really hoping that they would have at least announced something by now, but again, more delays, more nonsense....why am I driving a Mazda again?

Yes, I'm bitter tonight. :(

Bad day

edit: i misread your post.

:D

Well, Im assuming that upon release of the mid year MSP and the RX8, we will see more parts available from Mazdaspeed. IMHO, Ill stick with aftermarket like blitz, spool, apexi, ect. ect.

I just feel more confident about thier product, as its already out there, truely tested by the general mass, and years of r&d behind the products.

I think some of you missed the point, according to corporate there are NO mazdaspeed parts coming out for this car. Unless they are bullshitting and just waiting until the .5's come out it is not happening. On the extreme end I should get this in writing and the sue their ass for false advertisment on the website but thats only dreaming...

well, think about it from a business standpoint. it would be better to release these parts after the .5's come out since more people woudl be interested in purchasing them thanks to the larger user base. ..so they stand to make more money by waiting longer.

i am hoping that whoever you spoke with at mazda corporate didnt know what they were talking about.

And I would absolutely consider a false advertisement suit against mazda if they dont come out with performance enhancing crap.

Seriously, i KNOW i read it somewhere and heard it from my dealer that these performance enhancing parts would not void the warranty.......if mazda eats dick and doesnt give us perf parts then I will get some aftermarket ones, but i am waiting until i have a definite yes or no on the mazdaspeed parts before i go buying any 3rd party stuff

dont get me wrong...i adore my mazdaspeed regardless, but I have been very much so looking forward to seeing what mazdaspeed comes out with...

You guys need to remember..there are only what 1,500-1,700 MSP's on the road today?? I definatley see them bringing stuff out after the 2003.5's are released, and the RX-8 will be giving the MAZDASPEED badge it's credibility. If MAZDASPEED can produce parts comparable to aftermarket companies, and keep the warranty, you better believe there is money to be made... Mazda would have to be stupid to pass up an opportunity like that. Look at what Honda is doing with there Factory Perfomance(FP) lineup. They are gonna make a killing off people.

We won't see any Mazdaspeed performance parts for the protege.
It doesn't make sense from a business/marketing standpoint.

but they CLEARLY said they WOULD be making parts.....as is quoted from their website. They said this fully knowing at the time that there would only be a TOTAL of 4500 mazdaspeed proteges in existence

you know what sucks, it doesnt say parts for the protege, it just says they are releasing performance parts, but you know they put it on the protege site to mislead us...

i think they are still talking about the exaust, body kit and wheels that are already out on our car... that why they arent lying and a the same time dont have to put all the money into making real mods. its what i would do if i owned the company...

I was under the impression that statement meant that they would be releasing parts form the mazdaspeed to make mainstream protege and protege5s more like the MSP. Like the sway bars, rims, speakers, and struts you can get from the MP3 for the p5 and ES sedan. WHatever it means, I'm sure it's nothing to wait for, it wont be a big deal, and the response from aftermarket companies towards the protege line is remarkable, you have more than enough options.

HELLLLOOOOOOO!!!!!!

How did Mazda(speed) make our new MSPs? Did they develop a bunch of new performance parts themselves? NO.

They went to the aftermarket: Racing Beat, Racing Hart, Sparco, Callaway, etc. And what came out was a beautiful performance machine!

Mazda is a giant corporation that's part owned by Ford! These guys don't get excited unless they smell billions of dollars. Don't hold your breath waiting for anything from them. You'll do MUCH better keeping up on what's new from the aftermarket, where ALL of their money depends on performance parts that work.

SHEESH! Anybody want to buy a bridge?

from www.mazdamotorsports.com where I was pointed to when I asked the mazdaspeed hotline ppl about mazdaspeed performance parts:

MAZDASPEED MOTORSPORTS DEVELOPMENT will NO LONGER be selling to non racers. You will need to be a registered member of our program, with current race results, to purchase ANY parts from us. You will also need to log in with a valid ID and password, to view our catalog.

It has been our policy in the past that if someone still wished to purchase a competition part, even though they weren't a member, we would still sell it to them. This is longer the case. (It will take some time for us to update all areas of our site to reflect this.)

There are many online stores catering to Mazda performance parts now, and with the new MAZDASPEED performance accessories that should be in Mazda dealerships soon, Mazda owners should be able to find the performance parts they need. Check out the Links Directory at the Mazda Performance Corner for help finding parts.

MAZDASPEED MOTORSPORTS DEVELOPMENT will be refocusing our business activities around our Team Support members and racing. We are busy making improvements to our site for the benefit of our racers.

well THATS a disappointment.......

off to injen we go!
