When I roll down my window and keep the button held after the windows are down the lights dim. Do I need a red optima battery? Can you please advise me that best way to go. And whats the best place & price I can find it at?

Why do you keep the button held down when the window is open all the way???

It puts unnecessary stress on the electric motors. They will try hard and harder to 'open' the window that can't move any farther....so yes, it will pull more power.

Do you have any electronic accessories, or an upgraded sound system?

I did it one time and I stopped. But I did notice that the lights dim. Should I get a optima battery, grounding kit or a cap for my amp?

Battery and alternator. Grounding kit will do nothing except smooth out your idle. It didn't fix the dimming for me anyways.

i kinda noticed my lights dimming randomly. sometimes when i start pushing the gas the lights will dim and then go back to normal. im never too worried about it, but just outta curiosity, what is that? thanks. sorry if i threadjacked, but its related atleast.

dude, like he said you are simply causing the motor to try to pull the window down when it is being held in place. you're a fool. the lights might dim when you drive because fans may kick on and draw a lot of current to get started up.

when I had my P5, that things lights would shift like crazy. It happens on my MSP too, but not nearly as bad as my old P5 was.

Thats nothing compared to my old land rover discovery. those things are notorious for horribly electronics. It was so bad that when I would try to roll all four windows down at once the car would stall from electrical starvation. it would also pop 3-4 alternators a year, which is about normal for a Rover
