What cars can a stock P5 beat?

Our cars stock are gay and slow but throw some mods and you will be able to beat: civics,hyundais,corrollas,camry's,etc....

Here are the cars I have either beaten, tied,or kicked my ass in a race (remeber my car is not stock):

Beaten- 98'suburu forester, Hyundais, 01toyota rav 4, 92'lebaron v6, a bunch of ricer civics, a 86' silverado chevy truck lol v8 but it was a POS, 95'Dodge neon,

Tied-Solara V6 my friend sucked at driving stick.

Lost-Mitsubishi 95' GST turbo eclipse, Nissan Sentra v-spec tie at the beginning but beat me up top.

Civic DX, LX, HX...(the non-VTECs)
Cavalier(2.2)
Sunfire(2.2)
Saturn S-series(SOHC)
Subaru legacy(2.2 non-turbo)
Sentra (1.8)
Del-sol(despite what you may think, Ive never seen a stock one run better than 17)
Scion xA or xB
VW TDI(with mods they can be very fast, stock they are not)
Focus ZX5

there are many more, but those are some that u see on a dailiy basis, and Im getting sick of typing anyways(lol)

Slalom is the answer.

Just make sure you do it on the track! And not somewhere you can kill someone... (no)

protege DX/LX, 1.6L engine... same car, but 30hp less.

After I get my exhaust in, i'm going to car my buddy's P5 with his RB exhaust (2L sedan vs. 2L hatchback) - i'm assuming he'll win as even though he's heavier, he has MT vs my AT

ive beaten mustang GT, jetta VR6, and a few others.

im stock. its a drivers race.

Ya I don't think our engines are rated at 130bhp from the factory. If so, drivetrain loss is way too big for any car. That's like 30% power loss!! It's disgusting! Echos are on par, and may even beat us stock for stock cause they're lighter.

That's interesting. I was interested in a V6 Solara last year, but realized that they didn't have a manual version available....

How did your friend get a manual V6 model?
Nah his is a 2001 or 2002 SEV6 I think, not a 2003 or 2004 anyway before he knew how to drive stick good I would tie with his ass and I would be happy as hell. Then he learned to really drive stick and went crazy on his car with mods and kicked my ass (doh)here is his car-http://www.angelfire.com/nv2/whiteflash/ he also bet my friends GST eclipse.

Don't be affraid of any new ('02 and up) full-size Dodge truck. The non Hemi's are easy-to-beat slow. They all weigh 5000 lbs +. If it's a "Hemi" , and 4 doors, it will be close but you can still beat 'em through the first 2-3 gears, since 99% are automatics anyway, and those 20" alloys kill their power, just be sure and get the hole shot. My GF has a non hemi quad cab. Slower than my Protege, and gets 10 MPG. What a combo! They are mostly driven by "big-blocks-for-small-minds" type motorheads anyway. And most all US made PU's/SUV's have governor limited top speeds of about 100-105 MPH, well below our 116-119 MPH (according to Car & Driver, Road & Track, et al. highly sophistcated test gear anyway) top end, so just outrun 'em if everything else fails. Even the new Silverado SS shuts off the fun at 109 MPH. And also aerodynamics are clearly in our favor at post legal speeds.

^^^99% of people with trucks dont care about gas mileage or how fast their quarter mile/0-60 is...And I wouldnt care to race one (dunno)

VR4's aren't terribly great and I can totally see a civic beating one. They're really heavy which is the main problem. Putting down power is not

Civic SI's wish they can run mid 15 stock.. lol. The P5 wasn't made to drag.. it was made for handling. Haven't you guys notice how the P5s can outhandle Civics like it's nothing?

As for the Matrix comment, which model are you comparing the P5 to? XR, XRS, or the 4wd XR?

The XRS runs on the Celica 1.8L engine..

havn';t you seen the blue civic Si run a 15.21 quarter, that video was all over the net civic si's make 160HP on a 2400-2500lbs car, and i always compare the p5 with an XR because the XRS is like 4 grand more an XR and p5 are pretty much on par with each other

what year Si are we talking? 99-00 are decent...mid15s for the average driver.

The new Si is TERRIBLE...I saw three of em run at the track a month ago and the fastest out of a cumulative 11 runs was a 16.8

the si is not a hatch its like a coupe 2dr, its not like the new civic Type R/Si,
and im not sure why the new si is so slow, the new CTR runs mid 7's for 0-60(newest model)

i have headers, intake catback, hyperground and ignition wires and i still think im not even on par with a a mazda 3, ive driven a mazda 3 and those still seem faster. turbo is i guess the only way to put us back on par with everyone else
