Just buy a Honda. That's the only car I feel like I can abuse and mod with no problems.
MSP is crap.

most of the hondas are built in the states now.....their general reliablity stands but smal things are happin now..interior issues and stuff....i still think the msp and gti offer the best "quality"

I think the Civic and Accord have lost the Honda reliability. But I still think Preludes, although not new, are still great cars. As is the RSX-S. Look at the final point of manufacture, and if it says Japan, that's the Honda you want.

I think the only car out there, well soon-to-be out, that can match that MPG and still retain the power to hit 13 second in the 1/4 mile is the Lotus Elise. One badass mofo

Thanks guys. Can anyone tell me all the msrp's for the cars. I know that I can look for it but since most of the cars that are mentioned as my choices have owners that have replied to this thread I would like to know how much did you guys paid for your car.

Yep I wish I could afford the Lotus.

i bought my msp used with 5k miles on it for 16 out the door from carmax... people are getting new ones now for around 16.5 or 17

I'm looking for a new car myself so we're in the same shoes, MygreenMazda. But I have a whole year to save up and decide on what to get....I say go with MSP.

You guys have norrowed down my choices to only two. The GTI and the Mazdaspeed. I have started leaning towards the GTI. Funny thing is that when I posted this thread my first choice was the SRT4

I really like the GTI. The 1.8T has a lot of potential. The suspension is not that great, but you can take care of that with simple struts and springs.

did you drive the SRT4? Because you really can't decide for yourself if you haven't driven them all. You could listen to us bicker all day long about how this is better than that or that sucks compared to this, but it really comes down to what YOU like and what YOU can be comfortable with for the next 5 years.

hey...since you are starting to think more and more about the GTI 1.8T, why don't you check out our webforums. www.club18t.com dedicated to everything 1.8 Turbo...GTi, Jetta Passat, Audi A4, TT, if it has a 1.8T in it...we talk about it.

Any one else wants to give me their opinion.
well i could, i test drove em all (and own a MSP) eexcept the GTi untill recently my friend bought one and i drove it. I have to say i like it quick lil car feels stable. Some things i like, is the joltyness of the 1.8, turbo spools up fast, its quick. Some things i dont like about it are, the interior doesn't really catch my eye (not my type) the radio i dont like and the gauges i dont like. I like the rims, i like the genneral look of the whole car. I woulden't buy it for one because its a 2-door, i love the 4-door of MSP or any other 3 cars u listed, makes my life a lil easier. Also since the car is so little i diden't feel that safe in it, but maybe because im a bigger type guy i felt a lil crampped. Over all the GTI is really quick, tourqey feeling, nice look, nice rims, lots of upgrades to it. But if i had to choose a fun daily driver car with a nice look id go with the MSP. If i bought Srt-4 id probbably drive it hard, beat it make the most of the car, then end up selling it in a couple years. The Spec-v is nice just to cheap feeling, plus NA never beats turbo in the fun-to-drive factor :). So go with your gut feeling, all the cars are good cars, no major problems with any of them (that i know of) so go with your feeling, wither way im sure you'll be happy with your new car! Good luck!

My friend was in the same boat, except he wasn't considering the VDub. Last week he picked up his MSP and is very pleased. I think it's pretty badass myself!

I know someone selling an anniversary GTi with a ton of mods(he works at Forge Motorsports) so if you want one pre-hopped up let me know.
